I admit I still haven't been able to try it...it just looks so potentially bad. Their what was it...American Amber...or something wasn't too bad.

Bud Light Lime is the worst concoction ever, I was worried of a similar trend with the Golden Wheat. How much is GW for a 6 pack btw?

American Ale? Yeah that wasn't too bad. I think GW is about 6 or 7 for a 6pack where I am.

It's pretty good. Their Ten Fidy Imperial Stout--also in a can like all their beers--is their truly outstanding brew though. Dale's Pale isn't hoppy enough for my tastes.

Golden Wheat is not far behind believe me. I refuse to support the beer oligipoly that is InBev, Miller SAB, and Coors. I actually did a paper on this last year for Micro-economics and you would not believe the anti-trust laws that have broken by these bastards. Any beer made by any of these companies is massed produced garbage. Now they are trying to tap into the craft beer market with these "pseduo craft" ales....like their 94% control of the market isn't good enough. I suppose they are intimidated by the 6 percent increase in craft beer sales last year, lol. It is such a joke!

Pretty interesting facts there. I mean, I can definitely enjoy some BW, but no mass produced beer is ever going to run a microbrew out of business, the beer is just too good. They can do anything they want, but what they cant do is mass produce a craft and SELL it better than a MB.

I get the feeling that maybe this isn't a beer that ages, and that Binny's tried to pull a fast one by reeling out their inventory from last year, and now I just get fucked.

Because this stuff is...I don't know, sour. It tastes like it might have gone bad. F me. I've never had it before though, so I don't know what's it's supposed to be characterized by. 5 more of these? Ugh, don't think I can do it. Either a bad beer, or an old beer. I'm not sure which....

There's no getting around it, this stuff went bad. $11.99/6 pack? I'm taking it back to Binny's. It's definitely gone sour.

Chimay Blue this evening. It's better than I remember, especially after letting it warm up a bit.

^ I've learned why the Germans drink their beers warm. You can taste them much much better.

Before I knew what good beer was I would get my beer as cold as possible as to not taste it blololo.

Yeah nothing pisses me off more than when I go to a bar with decent beer and they give you one of those frosted glasses that is practically oozing with ice crystals. I tend to like most of my beer around 60 degrees.

Drinking a Long Trail Ale at the moment...

It's probably my go-to beer now when I'm not looking to switch it up.

So Celebration Ale is out already huh? I'll need to pick some of that up. I was surprised to see Anniversary Ale hang around so long.

I also need to try Dale's Pale Ale. I'll probably pick up a 6er of DPA and Celebration Ale for this weekend.

I am checking out the Alesmith Old Numbskull Barleywine that dmbsignguy traded me. This is one hoppy barleywine, but has a nice subtle maltiness that balances things out. More importantly, to quote Christopher Walken from True Romance, "it fucks you up". Good times!

It only comes out at a certain time (4th of July?) but it is fantastic. Very very good. I'd have to think, but I'd probably say that's my favorite offering of theirs.

I hate this too, but most bars don't know anything about good beer. What really pisses me off is when I go to a brew pub (I'm talking about you Sweetwater Tavern) and they serve me my stout in an ice cold glass. Ugh.

Agreed. I really enjoy it as well. It's super hoppy, so only hop heads need apply.

Getting ready to crack a Alaska Smoked Porter. I have never had one before so I am curious to see if it lives up to its reputation as a world class beer.

    Re: Favorite beer of choice?

Smoked Alaskan Porter was extremely tasty!!! I will have to get a Stone Smoked Porter to see how they compare, but if memory serves correctly, the Stone's smokiness was more subdued while the Alaskan's smokiness was pronounced!!! Tonight I am sipping on Troeg's Mad Elf Ale! It is time to get into the holiday spirit!

Had a Bell's Christmas Ale earlier. Eh, I was pretty disappointed. My dad said that it was more of a "Marzen" style beer, I guess that explains it. But it was light, and refreshing. Don't get me wrong, I liked it. But for a Christmas Ale, it just seemed off and out of place with that label.

Not too many spices or anything, definitely not very malty. It was more than "light", but it was thin. Not your thick, malty, wintery stout-y kind of beer.

Took it back, and got the 2009 edition. Hopefully this one treats me better.
