This is the bit depth of the recording. I am sure this explanation will over simplify it, but
generally speaking, 24 is better than 16. However, you will need special/high-end equipment to play those 24 bit audio files on a normal stereo. If your computer is relatively modern, it will probably play them but unless you've got some nice audio speakers, you're better sticking to 16bit because, as it has been explained to me, you won't hear the difference.
