no. Bagwell never did. merely suspected.

    same as Clemens.

Mac, Bonds, Canseco, Sosa... different story.

i feel like they will all get in though. writers are just being stupid.

McGwire, Canseco, and Sosa aren't eligible anymore via BBWAA, and at this point if we're being technical Bonds is only suspected as well.

Bonds and Clemens will make it in before their 10-year eligibility expires.

HBT had a great article today about how the writers aren't really solving anything with regard to their voting for PEDs, they're making it more muddled and confusing.

NBC Sports - HardballTalk: Have Hall of Fame Voters actually made the PED thing More complicated?

Bagwell admitted to using it. That's why I asked why he's in but not Mac

Just wondering how bad the drivers are in the Dominican Republic? Two players killed in one day in car crashes and they aren't the first to be killed in car wrecks in the Dominican Republic. I know Jose Uribe was also killed in a car wreck in the DR. How many other baseball players have met the same fate?

I'm seeing reports that both Marte and Ventura were under the influence while driving. Additionally, DR has very lax drunk driving laws from what I've read.

Taveras was the most recent. Shit has to change in the DR but that seems unlikely given how deep rooted their issues are. MLB needs to address this and take some action.

In 2012 in the United States, 92 motorists were killed on average per day in automobile accidents. (source, Wikipedia).

That Angels player Adenhart was killed in a car accident in the states. It's nothing more than mere coincidence that two baseball players were killed in the same way in the same country.

traffic related deaths per 100,000 inhabitants:

    us--10.6
    dr--29.3

traffic related deaths per 100,000 automobiles:

    us--12.9
    dr--94.9

coincidence that it happened on same day--yes. coincidence that it happened in the country it did? not at all.

i went to the DR for vacation a few years back, stayed at an all inclusive resort. we left the resort twice, for some excursions, and i was SHOCKED at people's behavior on the roads. motorcyclists weaving in and out, driving down the wrong side of the road, cars aggressively passing each other on small streets, etc. it's very unfortunate what happened to the 2 ballplayers yesterday, but frankly, i'm not surprised.

Kind of a sickening detail about Ventura's death but reports are coming out that he was still alive after the crash and was robbed as he laid there dying. His WS ring was included in the list of items stolen. JFC the DR.
