Heyooo. Playlist above is a bunch of random favorites of mine. It's collaboritive so I would love if you guys could add some of your favorite songs too. I trust most of you have a general sense of what I like and I like most of what you all listen to so basically just add whatever. I'm gonna spend my lunch hour putting a bunch more songs on. hopefully thome yorke's little hissy fit about spotify doesnt lead to a mass exodus of big name artists.

funnyh how the guy who pioneered the 'pay what you want' idea for music is so pissed about how much money spotify pays. if you're a young, stuggling band that depends on your album sales to live and isnt happy with the revenue spotify generates, then don't put your music there. although i think the record labels get to make that decision is most cases, which would explain why all of radiohead's music is still there but he pulled his solo stuff and atoms for peace.

Yea I would never pay $20 a month but I'll tak a free trial all day.

Btw for anyone who did the free trial, high quality will only play via Google Chrome if your doing it from a browser.

Anyone still use Spotify? Not sure how much I would use it but my kids want it so I was thinking about getting the family plan for $15 per month. Seems like a cool thing for a Christmas gift for them.

Lmao... I've been an Apple Music guy for like 4 years now since my whole fam is Apple and the family plan makes it easy.

But I had Spotify Premium back in 2011 before it really got big and it was awesome. I'll log in every now and then and check out my old playlists. I have to say the UI on Spotify has always been superior to Apple Music... which is surprising to me considering how neat Apple likes to keep everything. Its gotten better but it was kind of shitty when it first launched.

I love when I'm listening to some Cookie Monster-type death metal, just these harrowing, blood-curdling belches of sound and then the track ends and some bright, peppy pop jingle jumps out of my speakers. It's quite the tonal shift.

Spotify released their 2020 Wrapped data. Over the past 12 months I discovered 334 new artists and listened a total of 556 artists across 228 genres.

DMB made my top 5 artists, but only 3 tracks made my top 100 songs.
Dreaming Tree & Spoon from BTCS, and Seek Up from LT3.

Best feature is the playlists linking more new music and podcasts of my favorite artists talking about their music and creative process.

* Plenty of jokes about 2020 being the longest year didn't hurt either.

I have definitely enjoyed it and my kids were very happy to have the premium version instead of the free version.
