Yeah, exactly. I feel like only you have control over how you react to things. It's like that saying that is something like "only you have control over how you feel about yourself".
No one else should have the power to make you feel bad about you or offend you about something. I choose to not get offended by a complete stranger because I have other things to worry about than what some woman dressed up as in Michigan. We all have the freedom of expression, and the whole "some things are just off limits" is an excuse for those who pick and choose what is offensive.
I don't think she did it to hurt anyone. I saw so many people last year dressed up as Jerry Sandusky, and they just got some high fives and laughs. I've seen people dressed up as the Amish school shooting victims about 6 years ago, I've seen Superman in wheelchairs....and again, all they got was a few "that is horrible", but no one was threatening their lives, or the lives of loved ones. Halloween is about expression, pushing the offensive envelope, and dressing in a way you wouldn't dress on any other day.
