How To Get Away With Murder - New ABC Show

Anyone check out the premiere last week? Surprisingly, it was pretty good. Network TV usually doesn't do it for me, and I thought it was going to be a "girly" show because my girlfriend was dying to watch it, but it was pretty damn awesome and has a good premise.

Not to mention, Viola Davis is awesome.

Watched it. Typical shonda rhymes fashion throws a ton at you in the first episode.

No, not at all. I'd liken it more to a sophisticated murder mystery type show. There are no forensics or anything like that.

It's about a college professor that is also a defense attorney who educates her students about building up the best possible defense case. In the first episode, she has them involved in the actual case she's dealing with, prepping them to come up with a reliable defense as a regular lawyer would.

In the meantime, someone also (predictably) dies, and a few of her students are involved in the murder.

There are a number of scenes in present day and in flashbacks that build up a mysterious plot that's pretty interesting and thought provoking.

The show opened with 14 million viewers (which is crazy), easily beating Grey's Anatomy and Scandal (not that that means all that much).

I am in law school and I like it. The only part that I think is really unrealistic is having the entire class work on the case. Often times evidence shows up post discovery and you need to think of ways, be it ethical or unethical, to get it in. You can bet that plenty of lawyers do it the unethical way.

The class in the beginning where she's randomly calling on people and they stand up...I've had multiple classes like that.

Just a slower episode tonight, less to digest than the previous ones. Was actually kind of nice to have an episode that was a break from all the information thrown at us from ep1 and 2.

I thought tonight was the best one yet. I kinda liked that it slowed down a little. My biggest beef is i cant tell which female is hotter: the black chick or the latino one.

I'm into it so far-definitely addicted to solving the two murders. But for me Shonda Rhimes shows go downhill after the first season. She always has a great season 1 story (Scandal's Amanda Tanner storyline, for example), and then other writers take over and it ends up a train wreck.

I highly doubt network TV has ever experienced such an unabashed portrayal of gay sex! It's amazing. We need more of it.

1. Does Annalise know that Frank killed Lila?
2. Do we know what Frank owed Sam for?
3. Do we even know for sure that the call from Sam to, who we are supposed to think was Frank, has anything to do with the murder?
4. Why did the prosecutor show up at Matt's door and ask him if he'd rather answer questions at his house or at the police station?

1. I'm guessing yes simply because Annalise said something along the lines "did you do this?" to Frank about Rebecca being dead. But I'm not certain. I believe thats supposed to be unclear and next season we will learn more of this tangled web of Frank/Annalise/Sam/Bonnie.
