    Just finished watching whole show
Was able to stay away from spoilers
Heres the only question I want answered
Why did the others' say "Walt is too special for them or something"?? And they didnt want him
Thought for sure this was more important

This might answer that. Not sure if you've seen "The New Man In Charge", but it was a last effort to answer some more questions and served as a mini-epilogue to Season 6, I believe it came out with the DVD. It's a pretty neat video.

yeah, this vid would help answer some peoples questions, but not many knew it existed unless they bought the dvd/blu-ray set.

had to tell some friends about it & i think it helped them

From what I recall, at least part of it was that Walt's powers actually wound up kind of scaring the Others (or at the very least Ben), that they both couldn't understand the extent of him and didn't realize how intense he'd be.

    Re: LOST (the tv show)

I'm not completely sure what the writers initially intended for Walt's character, but they had to scrap their plans and Walt all together since he hit puberty fast. He grew like a foot and his voice changed so quickly that there was no logical way they could keep him within the timeline of the show. From Wiki:

    Quote:
When originally developed, Lost's creators intended for Walt to display supernatural powers, such as the ability to summon animals through telepathy, but when Kelley had aged significantly for him to no longer convincingly look ten years old, the character's arc was changed and Walt was written out of the show.
I believe there was probably something more grand in how they wanted to get him (and his dad) written into the story, but they had to change course quickly. For that reason, its just easier to pretend like Walt and his "special" abilities was never really a thing.

may watch this. Chronologically Lost - puts all the flashbacks and timelines in order by time/date so that it all lines up and it's presented in "episodes"

    sounds interesting.

this would help all those people confused by the show. i would assume they have the extra scene that was only on the dvd/blu-ray then youtubed.

    Re: LOST (the tv show)

I've been meaning/wanting to put together a special kind of fan edit video for the show for quite a long time now (been at least a year since I collected AVI files of every episode), and it's just occurred to me that I've got just about a month and a half now til the 10th anniversary of the series premiere, which would be a very fitting time to present it (and hell maybe even some props from Lindelof himself if I can pull off something good enough). One of the primary ideas I've always had was building it around the Jefferson Airplane song "White Rabbit", fans would not only recognize the lyrical connection, but it also just sounds cool. But that's such a short song, and I'd want my video to be longer, as it would be basically my definitive one.

I've never done this before for any sort of fan edit I'd make for a show or movie, but, if ANYONE might actually give a shit about this... ... any thoughts, on how to handle the rest of it?

There was a quote from lost that I kind of remember but I can't remember the exact wording. It was Ben talking to Locke or vice versa. Something to the effect of "you're good at manipulating people to think it is their decision, when it really is your decision" anybody remember the context? Who said it? Exact quote?

What I think you might be talking about... during season 4, Hurley is the only one who's been able to see where Jacob's cabin is, Locke knows this so he needs Hurley to lead them there so Locke can learn what next to do. But after being really freaked out by it initially, Hurley isn't too keen on visiting it again. Locke and Hurley talk, they come away from the moment with Hurley happily leading the charge to reach the cabin.

Ben has been there for all this, and he remarks how John's really becoming a great manipulator, he made it seem like going to the cabin was 100% Hurley's idea (this is con man/manipulation 101, really, to have the mark that you need him to do something, make him do it thinking it was his whole idea to begin with). Locke recoils a bit at the notion that it was sort of a Ben-type move to pull, and he says "I was never anything like you"

to which Ben creepily replies "no, you certainly are not".

    Yep. That's exactly it.

    http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Cabin_Fever

    LOCKE: What?

BEN: He actually thinks staying was his idea. Not bad, John. Not bad at all.

    LOCKE: I'm not you.

    BEN: You're certainly not.

It isn't exactly the quote I remember it to be but that's the one I was going for.

for whatever reason I got in the mood to watch some season 2 again the last couple days, and man I'm just really remembering how much I can't stand Rose Probably my least favorite character. If you don't behave or speak completely and exactly in the manner that she deems is etiquette and proper and all that, she will waste not one second in letting you know. The little barbs she throws out at people, oh my god so annoying. hell even her own husband.

Yeah, could have done without Rose

And Ana Lucia is one I didn't care for either.

^^^ holy crap, I can't believe they've got "Because You Left" that deep on the list, that's probably in like the top 20-25 for me. They've got it at like 75.

Although I'm glad to see they've got Expose more around the middle. I've said since not long after it aired and I still say that looking at it just on its own merits, it's actually a pretty well crafted little mystery. The "Forrest Gump Episode of Lost", I always liked to say.

was just youtube browsing, and there's a season 3 deleted scene that was brand new to me. The one Locke episode where he inadvertently brings a federal agent back to the commune he's been living on (that's really just growing pot). There was one more flashback scene, it shows where the cops have actually arrived and arresting the people, but Locke was out hunting in the woods at the time. He comes upon it from afar, he's like standing behind a bush, and they show the kid who was the agent, he turns and definitely sees Locke standing there, totally afraid, but he doesn't do anything about it. He just lets Locke go on his way.

I always assumed that any sort of other story, or "spinoff" or whatever, could ONLY happen with Damon and Carlton's approval (if not involvement, which I'd NEVER expect), but I guess maybe that isn't necessarily so.

It's such a bad fucking idea and almost certainly is due to the bitchers. They would desperately attempt to answer every question and it would just end up a disaster.

I don't know what's going to happen, but I'll go ahead and say goodbye to everyone just in case.

I'm in S3E5 of my rewatch I've been doing. This show is so damn good.

Who knows when a show of this caliber will ever come back around

    Re: LOST (the tv show)

I'm on the Season 3 finale, which shows a flash forward to Jack back in LA after the Oceanic 6 are rescued. He's drunk and taking pills and whatnot. One thing that confuses me is if this is after the island, why is he asking the doctor who tells him to get help, "Find my father upstairs, if he's more drunk than I am.....". Isn't Christian dead?

I guess I never caught this before.
