Brave New World is an awesome book. Don't hate on it just because it was assigned to you. It's got everything - sex, violence, drama, science fiction. What's not to like in that book?

Don't dismiss it because it is a "school book".

I'm going to start that tonight for my summer reading. Yea for AP English Lit!

I just finished Animal Farm- Orwell, also for summer reading. Not too exciting, but I thought it was a good way to discuss communism, and at least it was short.

Re: What are you reading right now?

-Hissy Fit by Mary Kay Andrews (advanced reader copy, not in stores yet). She's an excellent, Southern writer. Great book so far.
-The Sunday Wife-Cassandra King A very emotional kind of book, deals with a woman that's a preacher's wife with a sort of murky past. Its made me cry already

After I finish with one of these, I'll start Bleachers by John Grishman. I'm a big fan of his, eager to read a book of his that's a non legal type book.

Great thread...I work at a bookstore and its cool to see what others are reading.

im in between books, but recemtly read David Sedaris "Me Talk Pretty One Day," and "Naked" and they are HILARIOUS. They are short stories from his life. This guy makes everything seem funny, and he is really good at making fun at himself and his own idiosyncracies (sp?) I highly recommend him. Since they are short stories, you can read one or two a night and put the book down. i hate it/love it when I read a book thats so good I cant put it down cause I tend to read all night, and not get shut eye!
