I'm in, disappointed by one night at starlake but life goes on. Where are some good bars that'll be open late after the show. Close to a hotel preferably

I'll be there for sure. Missed both Blossom and Pitt last year even though I live about an hour from both so I'm definitely going to those and maybe Darien as well this summer!

You mean you're not psyched for Brad Paisley on N2?

I have a feeling a lot of Pittsburgh folks will make the trek over. It's a short little jaunt down the interstate!

I think you're right, specially since they're back to back Friday/Saturday.

This will be my only show of the year. Deer Creek and Riverbend are closer to me, geographically, but both are too close to my wife's due date for comfort. Have only seen DMB at Blossom once, on 8/20/07, which is legendary for it's bad setlist. So my experience was not a good one. But I'm positive that this year will be much better!

Can anyone suggest where to stay for this show? We are flying and renting a car - thinking about staying a few days after the shows. Thanx.

We chose Courtyard Akron-Stow. Anyone stayed there B4?
Does it matter if we stay in Cuyahoga Falls, Akron, Stow, etc. - or is it just all the same?
Anything to do there after the shows at night, during the days at the beginning of June? What is the place like?
We are thinking of going to Cleveland for a few days, and leaving from there (over Pittsburg) - again just wondering what to do (other than R n R Hall of Fame)?

Went with the Hampton as well, I'm curious about local bars that are close to the hotel ill switch to a different hotel if I find one with a broken across the street. If not the Hampton is going to one great time

I live about 30 minutes from blossom so I've never lookef into the hotel situation. But I can tell you is that blossom is pretty much in the "woods" & not as close to Cleveland as you would think. But ..... its an amazing venue, DMB loves playing there & its great for tailgating!! After the show the cops will be out & theres always check-points...just a heads up!

The Cleveland zoo is great!! .... I would recommend going!

If you're going to Cleveland, you should definitely hit up Melt Bar and Grilled. They have crazy, off the wall grilled cheese sandwiches.

Will most definitely be hitting up blossom this year... will be my 4th dmb show there. One of the most underrated venues im the country for sure.

Truth . . . Still won't miss a Blossom show though. I think they should let the orchestra sit in on a few songs this summer

Some of this thread evaporated some how...

Is there anyway you can park your car somewhere, and then catch a quick taxi out of the lot to beat the rush? Like, meet it out on a main road or something?

Not really...Blossom is in the middle of nowhere, traffic is awful, and all of the extra waiting in traffic would probably run up a huge bill with a cab. There aren't a ton of cabs in Cuyahoga Falls, so I'm not sure that they would even service blossom on appointment. In my experience over the past 10 years, the best way to beat the traffic is to try your best to park in a spot that you can drive out of (no backing out) and after the show, run to your car as fast as you can...you might look like an ass, but everytime we have ran to the car, we have gotten out in less than 20 minutes (if you can manage to sneak under that pedestrian bridge at the main gate exit you can save even more time). Rain is the wildcard in the grass lots...2007 was a nightmare!

Or plan on hanging out at your car in the lot for a while after the concert. We always have some food waiting for us at the car. It is a mess trying to get out of there.

Traffic seems to be better if you take a bunch of back roads and come in from the west. If you come in from the east off the highway, there is much more traffic.

And I remember that parking lot in 2007. It was a swamp. I've never seen so many stuck cars! I don't know how they all got out. Luckily we were parked on the high ground, and my friends car we drove has all-wheel-drive, so we were ok. Get there early so you can park in the paved lot!

Thank you for the good advice! Do you know what time the lot (or field, I suppose) usually opens?

We always park in the back off to the side by the woods & we get there at about noon every year to tailgate before the concert. But the actual lots they start parking people in dont open till later .... 2:00 or 3:00 I think.

Came here a couple of years ago - great venue but I remember the parking being awful as well. Thinking about paying for the VIP parking - anyone done this here? Does it help?

Did VIP last year, didn't really help.
