I'm from Chicago and I could really care less about this debate. it's probably already been said, but for most of us, the only time we eat stuffed pizza is when someone comes in from out of town and says "I want to try chicago style pizza."

If you are in Chicago, I encourage you to try Piece Pizza in Wicker Park. They do New Haven style pizza and it's probably my favorite place in the city. And i'm sure someone can explain the difference to me, but to me, new haven style pizza and NY style seem like the same thing

that's a poor outlook to live your life with. you must be miserable all the time except for the times that someone comes in from out of town and says "I want to try chicago style pizza."

You gotta lay it on thicker. As thick as Chicago style pizza, the answer to this thread question.

Detroit style is the tits though. Might be the favorite.

I went once to Loui's on recommendation when I was up the the Detroit area. Was perfect.

There's a couple places in Columbus that serve something similar. Crust wise it's close, by accident I imagine, but that's about it. No authentic Detroit-style that I know of. There's Jets here which isn't an ideal representation but that's a solid fast-food type pie.

    Loui's is great, although I prefer Buddy's.

I don't think so, but I haven't lived in Michigan in 13 years, and haven't been in AA in even longer.

The branding/marketing of every place that serves NY style pizza outside of NY is so, so, so generic and bad. For that I'm thankful.

In Chicago for 6 hours, have already destroyed the greatest pizza ever. A deep dish first timer was with me---he can't comprehend how he's been living a lie his entire life when it has come to pizza.

Was the lie that he always thought Chicago pizza was pizza when in actuality, it's tomato casserole?

Many people in this thread don't know what a casserole is. Or what soup is. Or what pizza is.
