We are pleased to announce that
Dave Matthews and
Tim Reynolds will join
Jack Johnson at the Fifth Annual Kokua Festival on April 19-20, 2008 at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii. All proceeds from the Earth Day weekend festival will benefit the
Kokua Hawai'i Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Jack and Kim Johnson to support environmental education programs in the schools and communities of Hawaii.
Other artists in the Kokua Festival line-up include
Paula Fuga and
Go Jimmy Go, and Brushfire Records' latest addition, the Hawaii-born, Minneapolis-based
Mason Jennings.
Pre-sale tickets for the Kokua Festival will be available through Ticketmaster beginning February 13, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. Hawaii time (2:00 p.m. ET) by clicking
here and entering the password: AllAtOnce. The pre-sale will wrap up on February 15, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Hawaii time (10:00 p.m. ET). Tickets are $50 for reserved seats, $125 for tickets in the seated pit area, $40 for general admission/lawn, and $20 general admission for children 3-12. Children under age 3 are free. New this year, online ticket purchasers will have the option to add on $2 to offset their personal travel to the show.
The Kokua Festival has raised the bar on environmentally friendly concert production both locally and globally. Some of the innovative greening measures include: zero waste collections sites, bike valet service and electric trolley, free water stations, biodegradable concession ware, use of biodeisel to power festival generators and vehicles, and eco-friendly merchandise.
