We are pleased to announce that Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will join Jack Johnson at the Fifth Annual Kokua Festival on April 19-20, 2008 at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii. All proceeds from the Earth Day weekend festival will benefit the Kokua Hawai'i Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Jack and Kim Johnson to support environmental education programs in the schools and communities of Hawaii.

Other artists in the Kokua Festival line-up include Paula Fuga and Go Jimmy Go, and Brushfire Records' latest addition, the Hawaii-born, Minneapolis-based Mason Jennings.

Pre-sale tickets for the Kokua Festival will be available through Ticketmaster beginning February 13, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. Hawaii time (2:00 p.m. ET) by clicking here and entering the password: AllAtOnce. The pre-sale will wrap up on February 15, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Hawaii time (10:00 p.m. ET). Tickets are $50 for reserved seats, $125 for tickets in the seated pit area, $40 for general admission/lawn, and $20 general admission for children 3-12. Children under age 3 are free. New this year, online ticket purchasers will have the option to add on $2 to offset their personal travel to the show.

The Kokua Festival has raised the bar on environmentally friendly concert production both locally and globally. Some of the innovative greening measures include: zero waste collections sites, bike valet service and electric trolley, free water stations, biodegradable concession ware, use of biodeisel to power festival generators and vehicles, and eco-friendly merchandise.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what I woke up to find. I just nearly shit myself when I saw this information. Seriously, I was jumping around and yelling so loud, and now I have to take a big shit. Wow, I can't believe this. My dream of DMB (or D&T in this case) coming to my neck of the woods is finally coming true. I live on Maui, but I'll take a flight to Oahu to see Dave any fucking day. WOW, this is truly amazing to me.

This will be my second Kokua Festival. It is truly an amazing effort put out by Jack Johnson and the Kokua Foundation. Half of the fun was just walking around the shell (which isnt that big) and checking out all the cool booths they have around.

this is going to be an awesome weekend! What a way to end my college career

I actually went in 06. It was a different structure back then but tickets weren't difficult to find. My buying experience was messed up because of my own stupidity. So we ended up paying more for basically the same seats.

Unless you are a member of the Kokua Foundation, you will have to wait for the pre-sale next week. So it will be normal ticketbastard stuff.

I think the tickets are for 1 day, but that is only my guess. This is going to be incredible. I need to convince some friends to come with me. Tickets are only 350 round trip. I am very excite about this.

the tickets are for one day entrance.... 50 reserved isnt bad for the show we are gonna get... the shell is a good venue too... i enjoyed paula fuga last time i went, then got ben harper and willie nelson

we are selling our vinyl to go. we have 2 free flights... why the hell not. sad part, we will only be able to go sunday because of sterlings class schedule. fly in sunday morning, fly out monday morning. but hell, i think its worth it. anyone wanna buy a vinyl?

never going to happen. first off, its a festival, not a solid concert, plus, its D&T, all live trax have been DMB. if anything it would just be an official release, but then again, radio city was just released. i have to say no, it will NOT be a live trax.

I doubt it to be honest. I would think dave and tim will go on around 7ish getting over about 8:30 and Jack on right around there. They have a 10pm curfew at the festival.

that is obviously a guess, but JJ's set in 06 was right at an hour long (got a recording so I am sure it).

As for hotels, I am on a cheap college student budget and I really dont care where i lay my head down.

The Polynesian Beach Hostel is literally a 3-5 min walk to and from the venue. And it is obviously.... CHEAP haha i think a 4 bed dorm is 100 bucks for 4 nights. But then again, I dont know how many people are cool with that haha.

As for normal hotels, anything on that east part of Waikiki beach is within a lovely walks distance.

There are also plenty of places around that area for a bevvy... or 5 This is a weekend were all the music is fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised with the local Hawaiin acts he booked.

But they would play both nights correct?

Thanks for the info. Just trying to see if it is worth it. Just went to Hawaii for the first time last week and I am dying for an excuse to go back.
