Poeple better be careful what they wish for cause if they come. The changes of getting tickets is going to be hard and how upset are poeple going to be when they play there and you can't get tickets...

I still doubt this show would happen, but if it does...well, I'll find a way to get there.

Why hasn't DMB played at Red Rocks in the past few years? Isn't it because they've outgrown it?

Well, lets say they do a 2 nighter there... I bet most people will only be able to get tickets for one show! That would definitely suck to have to come home after the first night.

There is actually a hill/mountain behind the venue that people will climb and listen to the show. There is no motorized access (legally ) but I would expect that thing to be full of people if this show happens. Last time I saw a show there with the hill full was Widespread Panic several years ago.

DMB has vastly outgrown red rocks and did so a long time ago....

They will never play Red Rocks again. There is no reason to:

2 nights at Red Rocks = Lost a shitload of money

5 nights at Red Rocks = Wasted A LOT of time and lost a shitload of money

DMB (and I mean MANAGEMENT, not the band) has obviously decided to punish Colorado for the '03 incident two years in a row.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with that decision, but for those of you who live in Colorado that seem to think only about yourselves...Consider the band's position.....Why in the hell would they ever want to go back to a place where someone threw a knife at them?
Even if they didn't go back to that venue, theyy know the same people will show up wherever they do in the state.
If it were my band, I'd say fuck it. Why take the chance of it happening again. Yeah it could happen anywhere, yeah it was one person out of thousands...but THAT's where it happened.

I feel terrible for you Coloradoans who are now suffering something I know I couldn't bear, but stop for two seconds and put yourself in their position.

Reasons for coming back to CO

    1. They have a huge fan base in this region.
    2. They have toured here every year since 1993 http://antsmarching.org/tour/state.php?stateid=6
    3. It is about time for another Colorado live release.
    4. I live here.
    5. I don't own a hunting knife and neither do my firends.
    6. Shit happens...let's move on.
    7. There is an invention called a metal detector if they are really concerned about safety.
    8. WE WANT THEM TO COME BACK!!

    I'd pay it.

Does anyone think its going to be two nights? That would make more sense to make it more accomadating to the millions of people that will want to go to this concert.

I would say more in the 400-500 per ticket range.... Depending on when you got them and how many nights they would play...

I wouldnt count on it though....

I think that you are going alittle over board buy saying that Coloradoans are only thinking of themselves... However I agree with some of your statements. One that DMB Management are the ones that do all the bookings and they are looking out for what is best for the band money wise.

However, when you look at it New Mexico holds 12,500 and Red Rocks 9,200 so playing at the best amph. in the nation(atleast what I think and I have been to the Gorge, and would still think Red Rocks is better) should be worth it.

Also, when you look at it Colorado was the first place the band played out West. That should be worth something.... Many of the Colorado fans have been there for along time, man I remember seeing them open for Big Head Todd and Los Lobos at Red Rocks in 1994 back in High School. I believe they have a right to be upset that they are skipping them 2 years in a row.

But, really when you look at it. If and I mean BIG if they were to play Red Rocks half the fans would be from out of state so what does it matter... The thing that most of us should understand is if they come most of the true fans are going to be left out cause only the few of us that are lucky to get tickets and the poeple with money will be able to go....

Well I guess a thumbs down will come from anyone who lives in Colorado. Though you just made 8 points to support your case and only one of which made any sense at all.

That could not be more true. There is a HUGE DMB fan base in CO. Huge.

And its not like there are a lot shows in close proximity for those fans to travel to.

But read over what I said about how the band probably feels about playin in front of a crowd that might contain that person or someone with a similar idea that threw a friggin hunting knife at them.

They will never go back to the Pepsi center and rightfully so.

    Indoor shows suck anyway....

There is Fiddlers Green however that is a horrible place to play, but is better then nothing.

If the band was really afraid to play in front of a crowd that might try to hurt them they would have quit the show when the incident happened. They didnt. They went out and did the encore. They are skipping colorado because there is no suitable venue to play at in the state and it has nothing to do with the knife incident. I believe we'll see them at the pepsi center again this winter.

"So, while I am certainly grateful for the many things RCA has given us, I also like to take the lion's share of the credit for our popularity in America. And that's because we don't follow: In the career of this band, we've never followed the models of anyone else. And that's made it difficult for RCA to get us across to people. But it's been easy for us to get ourselves across, because we don't have to fit into a can."-DJM

$500 easy. and i would pay it. which is why all the tickets would likely be will-called.

I think the bands management knows scalping would be a huge problem with this show but asking 9200 people to line up before the show to hand out tickets wouldnt go over too well. I can see will-calling all warehouse tickets(which is probably what you meant anyways), but not every ticket in the house.

Tickets are sold in pairs, so only 4600 people would have to go to will call. Get 50 will call tables based on alphabet, should go slick.

    A) They're not playing Red Rocks
    B) It's not an issue.

Fiddlers Green would work.... It sucks but it is better then nothing....
