I hope you've played trumpet before. It's not a simple instrument to pick up randomly.

I played French Horn/Mellophone and Baritone in HS. I'm a little rusty, but I'm sure I can figure it out.

updated the site now that i finally got a PDF writer. All files are now in PDF format, not the old picture format. This should make getting them easier since some of you were having problems with the format the sheets were in.

Great stuff, man. I've actually been using your DDTW sax for when I play it live...Are you up to trying to write out American Baby? The end jam is probably my favorite sax work by Leroi, even though I know it's a trio...it'd rock to see that, thanks!

you mean transcribe the studio solos at the end? I was actually meaning to transcribe all those parts. I had been working on the end solo to SAWG, but put it on the back burner... I'll see what I can do.

Again, thanks so much for all of these. If you ever have a chance, I'd love to see the LWS versions of Big Eyed Fish and Bartender--Leroi's parts are beautiful.

Hey man, I love your stuff, and everything I've tried out of yours always rings pretty true to the song...but I must object to your chord chart to A Dream So Real. There is no way the second chord in the verse is an Eb. The note Dave sings ("falling hard, falling fast") is a D, which is pretty dissonant with an Eb over it. I've been playing a Bb(maj6) in that place, and it sounds great. I haven't tried your entire progression, but that chord really stuck out to me. I appreciate you figuring it out and letting us know, though...like I've said before I love your sh!t I'm not in front of an instrument, so there's a possibility of me being off on the specifics; but I know a Bb sounds beautiful at that place in the progression. Cheers!

i'm hearing dave sing an Eb on the word "hard" and "fast". I'll take a look at it again though.

Hmm...yeah I'll look at it closer too. Maybe I've changed what note it is in my head because I've been playing it as a Bb for so long. Try playing it with a Bb too and see what you think, though. I just tried the Eb real fast on a keyboard, and it sounded pretty off, but like I said I haven't paid too much attention to the song lately; my memory may be fading haha

if you have it, check the 1 time it was played this year with Dave on piano... the chords are a lot easier to hear cause it's a lot less ornamented and embellished compared to the work Butch was doing on the tune.

Whitey...did you mention that you had some trumpet parts? I play, and I just noticed this thread.

Do you know where I could find some trumpet sheet music for DMB?

On a side note: could I just transpose the sax parts?
