Re: Dating is miserable

Yikes, that would be a problem, you can gently wake her up. Sometimes that stops it, but if she has sleep apnea or some other physical thing which causes the snoring you may be in for many sleepless nights.

My friend has sleep apnea. I found that out the hard way when we shared a room after my brother's wedding. I've been with a few snorers. It happens. I just deal with it haha.

That's hardly fair or true. I have been sleeping with the Noise girl for months now. I met Big Red last weekend and we've hung out all week.

I am particular about who I want to start something serious with, but to say I am one and done is pretty unfair.

Snoring is an automatic done for me.

Every roommate I've ever had snored. It taught me the wonders of the always running box fan, and now I can't sleep without one.

Hah! after the weekend was over and she spent the night on Sunday, I made her go out with me to get a fan. My room is so cool now. As an added bonus, I barely hear the fat of my roommate and her boyfriend slapping together anymore. Winner all around!

Made it to L.A. and spent my first night here with the lady. I got to my friends house whom I'm staying at for the summer and the lady came over after work, we ate dinner here and then I went over to her house. Good thing my friend is understanding and loves both of us. I'll be staying over again tonight as we both have a hair appointment tomorrow morning and it's closer to her house...just makes sense.

We both know we need to take it easy now that we are near each other. She doesn't have her kid this weekend so a lot of time will be spent together this weekend, then we hope to get into a healthly, normal "beginning" relationship stage. A lot of new changes in my life and I don't want to have too much on my plate. Feels great to be out here though!

You know why I love the movie "Hitch" so much? Because it's true. Okay, not the whole fat guy and super model aspect, but it's true. Dating really is frustrating because girls get in the way of their own ability to meet the right guy because they assume everything he does means he has something wrong with him.

I know there are a lot of idiot guys out there as well and I'm not putting the blame fully on women, but this is exactly what I have seen through my experiences. Maybe I need to call up Will Smith

I am living in LA now, I moved out here yesterday! I am staying at their house currently. They go back to NY for the summer in one week. So, I will be house sitting for them in LA while I try to find a job and an apartment of my own. They come back September 1st, so I have 2 months to get set up out here or else I go back to NY.

So I figure I should update the whole Umpire situation.

She came to see me play music on Saturday and I convinced her to come on stage to play a couple of songs while I grabbed another beer. Her mothers best friend (My roommates girlfriend), who I'll nickname Mayonnaise going forward (from the great cartoon Doug), told me that it is unheard of. She took guitar lessons for years and years but hasn't practiced in 2 or 3 years. She has been practicing for weeks now and each time I perform I've convinced her to come and play another song.

Well on Saturday night she played music and brought some of her friends. Well afterwards her friends and I went out for drinks. This girl and I are quite a good pair. It's good, I again, won't do anything while she is with partner it's there. It's good, oh man it's good.

We went out with her friend last night and met for coffee (we need a chaperon). All three of us are going next week to Toronto on Sunday to see Before Midnight (the third movie of the Richard Linklater films I always rave about. It's pretty exciting stuff. I would have a relationship with this woman. Oh how wonderful it would be.

Well I know I do. I just don't know if I'm too excited about it yet. Met her on Match (about a week before my subscription ends) and she contacted me. Seems pretty cute in a few of her pics, but won't blow anyone away. Also she might be too much of a self-professed nerd (attractive in doses, but at some point there is a line). We'll see.

I'll go on it without any judgments, but I can already sense the impending internal conflict of "I only kinda like her, but maybe I should take what I can get."

See how the date goes before you pick her apart. The thing that gets in the way of both men and women is they don't realize everyone has flaws.
