I'm ok if someone doesn't like a director's style or something. In most cases, some people are just anti-whatever's popular.. which he certainly is. There's a lot of 'ball-washers' that just love everything he puts out just because. I think he's great.. but I go in to every movie fresh, as it's presented and judge it on that. I wasn't a big fan of TDKR after the fact, for example. I liked it, but didn't really wow me.
For me, he's earned my interest. I'll be curious to see just about anything he does. I was interested in Interstellar.. probably mores because he was directing, but the marketing has sold me on being in the theater opening weekend.
I think what I admire most about him is his process and approach. It seems unique in filmmaking today, and his films are made with a lot of care. Script first. Until that is just as he wants it, he doesn't move forward. He completes each phase and focuses on it. I think it makes the end product better. I love hearing how he works. That authenticity really brings something extra out on screen.
