Re: ~Official Pearl Jam Appreciation Thread~

I'd like to hear Ten live from start to finish - acoustically. Not sure if they'd ever do a DMB gimmick with 8 acoustic songs mixed in with 25 regular songs but I wouldn't mind. I dig acoustic stuff.

Ten is a good collection of songs. Doesn't stack up to no code, yield and vs as an album though.

I hate those music snobs of any kind. If you wanna like the more commercially friendly stuff - cool, at least you're a fan, just be cool about it.
It's laughable to me that no one could possibly like a PJ album more than Ten unless they're just posturing to look cool or something. Ten is great. No Code and Yield are better in my opinion.

And I really do not understand how Ten being the most commercially successful would matter to anyone at all as far as which album you prefer personally.

Calm yourself. I like Yield more too. But I don't think what I said about Ten is at all untrue for some fans of the band, and for many bands actually. It's the album that the overwhelming majority of casual fans claim as the best, so diehards feel the need to distinguish that they like some lesser known albums.

So basically... The 'Yield' and 'No Code' shows from this month are gonna come with the corresponding 20-year anniversary releases? Anyone else agree?

I think we will get them soon. Maybe that's why they played them in full to hype them up a little more?

They did play an acoustic set once before playing their regular show. Check out 7/11/03. Fantastic show. First disc/set was all acoustic.

I watched PJ20 several months ago without knowing a ton about the band other than I was a casual fan, but my first show was last weekend in St. Paul. I watched PJ20 again last night and it really helped make a lot more connections. Good stuff.

They posted today that PJ20 came out 3 years ago today. Nuts that it's been that long.

it's not just you. for a band all about vinyl 1) most of them do not sound anywhere near where they should and 2) they sure do like to create a collectors market by keeping availability limited.

best sounding pearl jam vinyl might be the constitution hall vault release.
