Is it possible to install iTunes 11 on Yosemite instead of having to use iTunes 12? Don't dig the loss of the sidebar in the new iTunes.

Do you have time machine and backups? If so you could easily try (if you need help just ask)

Might not work but if you have a backup it won't matter. I could check if it'd work but that'd be a lot of work because if you didn't have a backup I'd have to send you iTunes 11

Yeah I have a Time Machine backup. Just read that a pseudo-sidebar is still possible in iTunes 12 if you stay in the playlists tab. I guess my question then is can you see your whole iTunes song library in the playlists view that has the sidebar, or can you only see the different playlists?

It's effing stupid that Apple keeps trying to kill off the sidebar to make it more like iOS iTunes.

Idk. Cause I don't use iTunes. Probably just play lists.

Seriously you could try iTunes 11 though. Just back up the Yosemite version of itunes (not using time machine just on an external) from the apps folder and get a older copy of iTunes from time machine manually and put it in the apps folder and try to run it

You could only use iTunes to sync with phone and use other apps to listen to music on the computer. That's what I do.

You can still see all your music in playlists view. The top playlist is "Music" which is your whole library.

So essentially the same functionality is there as it was in iTunes 11 with the sidebar, just that it's under some "playlists" pseudonym/tab?

There's not any other missing functionality doing it this way, is there?

I thought Yosemite was supposed to support an iMessage that worked with all SMS messages? I'm still only getting my iMessages on my Mac.

how do i correctly sync my phone up to iMessages on my mac? that is, when i send a message it won't show up on peoples phones as my email address. i had it working well, then i upgraded to the 5 last year and it hasnt worked since.

I know on my iPhone I would have to go to the messages settings and go to the "send & receive" tab and unselect my email address so that text messages wouldn't show up from my email address. Leave only the phone number selected.

Hopefully that's what you're talking about, don't know if there's a better way.

Any else having problems with Safari after upgrading to Yosemite? Ever since I upgraded, webpages load slowly and sometimes not all. I've noticed Facebook only loads so much then just stops. I only get several newsfeed stories then nothing. It's getting annoying for the slow loads and sometimes no loading at all. It all started with downloading Yosemite.

The problems continue. I try to watch videos on youtube and get no video. I do get sound though. I re-downloaded the latest Adobe flash player and I still get no video. Everything was fine up until I downloaded Yosemite. On a rare occasion I will get video with sound on youtube, but not very often. I also get the "spinning wheel of death" while videos load on youtube. I'm about ready to go to Apple and ask them how I can re-install Mavericks because Yosemite can go fuck off somewhere.

Maybe the Apple store will have answers as to why things are messed up on Yosemite. Things shouldn't of just slowed down and stopped working.
