This would be bad for the kids, college basketball and the NBA IMO. Take DeAngelo Russell for instance. I don't remember him being a projected top 5 pick before he went to Ohio State. Why should he have to stay at Ohio State for another two years because of a decision he made before he showed how good he actually was?
Basically I just think it's terribly unfair to the players to force them to make a multi year agreement to a school when they have no idea what their NBA stock will be. I think it would lead to a lot of kids jumping straight out of HS that shouldn't be which like I said, is bad for them, college basketball and the NBA.
Maybe I'm missing something and there is more good than bad, I just think it would be a disaster.

I think out of high school, either NBA or two years would make the most sense. I don't think its fair that high school kids don't have the option to go straight to the league, not everyone wants to go to college. Some of these guys have been training to play pro ball. Some are going to make bad decisions, yes, but at least they have the choice. And then if they decide to go to school, they are committed to two years, so schools and college basketball get a little more from it too.
Maybe they could make the same stipulation that MLB has, where you can go back if you are unhappy with where you are drafted.
I just think there is a better model somewhere than the current.
