So much for him cutting back on the booze to lose weight! I saw that theory thrown around in the Colbert thread.

Ask him when he's gonna start writing good lyrics again.

Gave me some sticks too. Awesome guy. Met Rashawn and Jeff the same night. Not as in depth as Carter though.
Cannot express the depth of my jealousy. Carter is my idol.

Would not even know how to go about getting the chance to meet Dave or any of the band members. I have been following the band around for almost 20 years and the opportunity has never presented itself.

    Re: Meet and greets!

I met Dave in '98 at the first show of the BTCS tour in Roanoke VA. It was an outdoor stadium type venue and I went to get a beer. I was on the GA area, walked through the stands to grab a beer and noticed a security guard standing in the corner. I walked over and around the bend saw Dave standing there watching the opener, who i think was Robert Randolph. I was shocked. No one else was standing there. I called over to him, he gave me the just a min. hand gesture, then walked over. I snapped a quick pic, exchanged a couple of words and by that time a bunch of idiots started gathering around. Saw Leroi at Jazz fest walking around, met him and then Boyd at one of his meet ups. Still have to meet Carter and Stefan to complete the core 5.

Tim Reynolds is probably the easiest to meet. He tours solo and with TR3 at small venues when he's not with Dave or DMB. He is very accessible after his shows, as in he usually comes out to the merch area to chat with fans. I just met him a few months ago. He's a strange bird to say the least...

Had the chance to meet Dave at the airport in '07. As many have mentioned, incredibly down to earth guy, took pics and signed autographs for the people that were there. My GF at the time said "I loved you on house" and he laughed and smirked. I simply asked if i could get a picture with him and he obliged. If i get the chance to meet him again, I'd simply tell him thank you for creating such wonderful music that's had such a positive impact on my life.

I met Rashawn at a hotel in San Fran and he acted as if he wished i didn't exist lol.

Maybe it's the time and place, he came out before a show in 2009 in the UK and hung out for about 15 minutes, offering people to play his trumpet (no innuendo intended)

    Re: Meet and greets!

I was tryin not to stumble over my own feet, so really kept it simple. He seemed to thank me more for traveling and taking time to come see him and Tim then I actually thanked him, lol. Just thanked him for doin what he does and what not. Very humble guy, all the stories you hear about him being gracious are 100% accurate. He embraced me (I'm sure everyone else also) like we've met several times and was more then glad for me/us to be there. Took a couple of photos, and then he insisted to take a not so generic/goofy one where he gave me a big ole hug and a goofy Dave face.

Easily one of the best days of my life
