I think it will be very interesting to see what coffin can produce in the stereo...remember on big whiskey he only played mostly roi parts, he has the ability to be a leader on the songwriting fronts just like roi was
I think fonze will be the other important factor. he seems energized, and the creative juices are flowing, remember, he wrote some of our favorite songs and he has the most diverse taste and influence in music of anyone in the band. Plus the recent movie stuff and that extra work with Mike Mcready have me pumped
The return of Boyd would be nice, we all know carter will kill it, would be nice to see tim very involved
I think the album will be great if they continue what they did for big whiskey, like it or not, that was the first step in the right direction for the band since 2000, they have 3 virutosos in the band and they're into the music more than ever. If they revert back to just playing over dave's songs, i think it will be wasted talent.

gotta assume i know which 3, but who were you thinking?
also, you're completely right about utilizing the musicians, especially with us not seeing daves full potential in songwriting in recent years. this album has to focus on the band and the music, which has SO much potential.
im also excited to see songs written completely void of leroi. i want to see jeff bring songs from the studio to the stage and evolve them. i love what he's done with dmb's music (i respect it, anyway) but in essence they are really lerois parts and in that respect he is limited. i want to see what a musician like him with a musical history like his can do with the dmb
