Just started watching the series for the first time last week and have 2 episodes left in season 3 so I don't want to read too much in here, but wow. Great show. Blown away so far with Season 3.

making my girl watch the show for the first time, second go-around for me. were about half way through season 2.

i get it, season 2 isnt as exciting as other seasons because they took the focus off the streets, but its really good in its own right. fantastic acting, great writing. and just interesting to see that side of baltimore. its really incredible that season 2 is considered the "worst" season, and its still better than most stuff ive ever seen on tv.

thoughts on season 2?

I really dig season 2. I used to hang out in Locust Point a bit during my halcyon days. I knew the stevedores, the other pollocks, and the rest of the wharf rats.

Until I made different friends and we would drive around the mall parking lot checking for unlocked cars.

The on-going riots in Baltimore reminds me of this show. Don't think this sort of activity would've been good for Avon's corners.

Started my first re-watch last night. Much easier to watch the show at the beginning, now that I know a bit about the characters (such as their names!). Rawls busting McNulty's balls in the pilot about talking to the judge about Avon was classic. Loved it.

Just finished up Season 2 for the second time. Ziggy was more tolerable this time around, but S2 is still a pretty significant step down from S1, in my opinion. The port cast was pretty weak in comparison to the guys you had on the street in S1. S2 is still solid television, though. Just don't think it's up to par with S1.
