Your best recent DMB touring week

Looking for some ideas for a great DMB week of shows in the spring/summertime. We have done the Tampa/WPB run, but are not loving Tampa, and that leaves only 2 shows for the week.

We've never done shows in the East, other than MSG/IZOD in New York.
Can anyone tell us about a run of shows that might have us seeing 4 or 5 shows in the week? We don't mind driving a bit.

The Northeast is probably best in terms of quality of DMB shows (just surround SPAC) but why not base your trip on the part of the country you want to visit and have DMB shows dictate the dates you visit those places?

OK - we ARE definitely thinking Northeast or East.

Is there a good venue that you know for mid-week shows, and then a great weekend run afterward? Anywhere they typically go before SPAC or Hartford, for example. The single shows in Darien Lake and Toronto actually don't interest us as much as catching a couple of 2 show runs, in 1 week/weekend.

Just so you know where we are coming from - the Gorge is basically our "home" venue, though we are 500 miles away. We will definitely be there this year again for 3 shows.

We are just looking for an alternative to the Florida run, for an earlier DMB trip this year.

Can't really comment too much about where to stay for Camden, I got friends who live near from the venue so I crash there.

Camden is located 15 mins or less from most parts of Philadelphia so there should be places to stay in the surrounding area. Idk about hotels in Camden. Not the most friendly place in the lower 48.

Usually for me my best stretch is Houston>Dallas, that's two in a week. The Caravan was my best, that was three in a week, but I don't think that counts.

2010 was supposed to be spac (friday), spac (saturday), Kings of Leon Tuesday (SPAC), Bonnaroo (thurs-sunday) with KoL Thursday and DMB headlining Sunday.

you really have to wait for the tour announcement to plan a trip like that and see where the shows are going to be. last summer i did charlotte on a wed. and then hartford that fri and sat(3 shows in four days) I also did SPAC and jones beach which was 4 shows in six days. I assume there will be some chances to do multiple shows like that again in a short amount of time.

it all depends on what the actual schedule is going to be. sure there can be a great run of 2-3 2 night stands in a row, if they schedule it that way, but there is no way to know what they're going to do until its announced. so its not really worth planning anything now when you don't know when or where they'll be playing.

We did a week run this past year with 2x Camden (tues/wed), Hershey (fri), bethel (sat.). It just worked out with the scheduling. We had fun but we were pretty worn out for the drive home from Bethel on Sunday.

You don't want to stay in Camden. Either cross the bridge and stay in Philly, or stay in the Cherry Hill area of NJ (about 5 miles away) and a nice area with mall/restaurants/shops etc

i did mansfield and spac last year, which i would totally do again this year. almost did jones beach too but couldnt afford the time off. i heard jones beach is a horrible outside venue though anyway.

I did SPAC and Jones this past summer. Only a few days apart and they were awesome shows!

jones beach is actually an awesome venue in a great setting IF you can get seating in the lower area. upper seats make it an awful show because the sound gets muffled up there

I did Spac/Mansfield in 2010.

Flew into Boston the day before and caught a Sox game. Drove to Spac the next day, hit both shows. Was exhausted after that, and hated Boston, so on the day off between shows, we just went to Mansfield and watched Longhorn baseball on our laptops

Thinking back, I wish we would have hit Providence on the off day.

Mansfield was tits. So chill. Nice venue. Much more enjoyable than the Spac shit show.


It was a sweet trip though, four shows over six days.

I did the FLA run in 2012 and I got to meet Jeff. But I wrecked my car so that was a buzzkill

I also did the Duluth (Tuesday) and Cville (fri/sat) same week and that was awesome.

I had a 5 show in 9 day run back in 2007

Sun 8/26/07 (Alpine)

I had another 5 shows in 9 days in 2008, but the first 4 were within the first 6 days.

Fri 7/25/08 (Deer Creek)
Sat 7/26/08 (Deer Creek)
Tues 7/29/08 (Columbus, OH)

lenn if you can pull one of these off it's worth it. Like others have suggested East Coast is probably your best bet. My runs were in the midwest, but you never know if the schedule will align or not any given year.

Last year did camden 2x during the week>Hershey friday night>Bethel saturday night. Luckily I leave in the middle of all these so I had a place to stay. It was a great week. Nothing better than ending a show and knowing you'll see the band the next night

for those that have been to both, whats the consensus on Deer Creek vs Alpine? I'm contemplating checking out one of these two venues this summer
