Re: Live Trax 23 and 24 Announced!!
I can remember in the fall of 1996, seeing dmb for my third time. I was a huge fan of phish and the dead at the time, but that show in the fall of 96 really made me say wow, dmb really is impressing the hell outta me. The show was at michigan state and the next morning i took a walk on campus and their was a record store with two bootlegs on the shelf. One was a dmb show from 9-28-94 for 50 bucks and the other was the dave and tim show for 2-19-96 for 75 dollars. The guy working said if i wanted them both, a hundred out the door (what a deal hahaa, but i didnt care, i didnt have any access to bootlegs) so i took the two shows. On my way home i listened to the 1994 show and was blown away, the halloween from this show is absolutely incredible, but once i got home and put in the dave and tim show, my life as a dave fan changed forever, in a positive way. Unbelievably good doesnt even describe this show. It is THE must have dave and tim show. It cemented my love and respect for dave as a musician, and to this day, anyone who asks me why i love the music of dave matthews so much, i point back to those two days in the fall of 1996, and hearing that particular dave and tim show still to this day. This show holds very special meaning for me. It is the reason i became such a huge fan. I still to this day, have evenings where i light a candle, uncork a bottle of wine, cut up some cheese, and just relax to this show. Incredible.
