i'm still not sure i'm following.... tiger destroyed the field at the 97 masters. he was in contention on sunday in most of the majors in 98 and 99. and yet his 99 pga win was somehow a fluke?

Yep. Sergio choked. Before we knew that Sergio was Spanish for choke

you gotta be joking. tiger had a 5 shot lead like halfway through the round, made a lot of mistakes.....and pulled through at the end.

sergio has choked many times in the majors. but he didn't choke at the 99 pga.

Winning the PGA at Medinah was anything but a fluke and Sergio actually made a charge on the back 9 of day 4. Not sure how that can be choking but to each their own.

C'mon. He may have played badly down the stretch but that doesn't take away from Tiger's tournament. He wasn't even close to being gifted that major.

Maybe. But there's no evidence. If he did it, maybe it helped in recover from injuries but it didn't help him to have the best short game in the history of the sport.

and he (tiger) did have a rough back 9, but he also had a great front 9. oh and that clutch up and down on 17 to save par too. must have used PEDs to make that putt

It's just history repeating itself. Bud did the same thing in baseball. He knew what was going on but he and the sport needed Barry, Mark, and Sammy. If another player comes along and can ever be marketed like Tiger was and still is, He will disappear. But you can forget the idea of him playing in his 60's like Sam Snead and still producing. Tiger has a better chance of being more like Muhammed Ali by that age than a Tom Watson (better short game than Tiger).

Pretty big news that DL3 is our 2016 Ryder Cup captain. I love him getting his shot at redemption.

Was really pulling for DJ yesterday, he hit some great shots down the stretch including the last playoff hole. Hahn just sunk a great putt to win it.

Good tournament going on. Really need Casey to stay hot, took him in my fantasy league this week. It's a league where you pick one golfer per week and you can't repeat that golfer all season. Winner determined by earnings.
