Anyway, time to share more things of Positive Psychology with y'all.
This may sound a little hokey, but bear with me, there's actual data that suggests these activities work.
Some people don't have gratitude as one of their top five, but it's an incredibly powerful strength to have. Being able to look at things that have happened and things going on now, and being thankful for them will highly increase your subjective well being (psychological term for happiness
).
How do you do it? Easy. My boss would have said to keep a gratitude journal, where you list 5 things each day you're thankful for, then keep track of them. I personally think that's a little too much. It's a good idea for an assignment (which we did for the curriculum we wrote), but not for us. I find it's easy to just think of 5 things you're thankful for while you're laying down about to go to sleep. I find it calms me down and helps sleep come easier.
