I wonder if it will hurt the smaller clubs that don't get invested in, leaving them to bob up and down between Championship and the Premier League. Also curious to see what would happen if one of the invested clubs shit the bed and got relegated.
I think you will still have the power houses, but overall the league will have more parity. the BPL is a great product because all of the teams are getting so good. The American influence has had an impact. So many of those teams have just as large or even bigger followings here in the US now.

If you scroll back about 4-5 years...you will find that I used to follow Palace as my second team like crazy, up until they beat Man United in the league cup. At that point I decided that they were officially in conflict with my #1 haha

Anyway, the Devils owner was in a little hot water over here recently. Apparently he landed his personal aircraft on a kids soccer field which forced the kids to cancel their game. He has since apologized for this incident.

I think it makes the title races more interesting and spots 1-6 are not as predictable as they had been in years past. But I do think it's harder on the smaller clubs. Right now there isn't a whole lot separating the lower mid table clubs from those at the bottom/near the top of the championship. I'm curious if more investment will create more disparity between the mid-lower table teams. I would also hate to see a newly invested club get relegated and the owners calling it quits and then leaving the club in worse shape than it was.

There are lots of unscrupulous business owners out there. Hell, look at Hicks and Gillette. We were literally days, some say hours, away from administration.

Obviously it's all speculation. It'll be interesting to see what happens with it all.

Palace seem to doing it the right way though and could be a good model for smaller clubs. Get investors and a bit of money, but don't relinquish control of the club and keep the ties to the community.

Despite losing at Stoke 1-0, I still was able to hang out with Craig and go to the Manchester and Glasgow DMB shows

Aside from the actual game, my time in Stoke with Craig and his wife Anna was fantastic. I learned that the other football team in town, Port Vale, can divide families even though the teams don't often play each other. The Britannia was a fun stadium. Not big but very loud. Chelsea fans made most of the noise until Stoke scored a nice goal in the second half. After that, about the only things being said from the Blues end were swear words. Except for the chants in support of Jose. I can say, the fans who go to games are still 100% behind Mourinho.

Certainly was. The Stoke/Chelsea game was still my favorite part. I was so blown away by the experience of sitting in the away end. It was so clear how much passion and love for the club those fans have.

Dutch authorities say there was a "concrete threat," whatever that means. Can't blame them for cancelling game. I would be fairly nervous to be at the England/France game tonight.

it was due to an unattended suitcase/briefcase.

music arena (14k capacity) evacuated just now as well.

Read that they found a truck of explosives disguised as an ambulance in/near the stadium. Now it seems German authorities have put a gag on more information.

Apparently the explosives was not legit... At least that's what the German government is now saying. Though they did find a device... Not sure how that works. The original tweet came from DW Sports. They have since updated their page:

Gloves? Are you sure those are mine? I don't recall having gloves. I do recall leaving a beverage and newspaper though.

Chad and Craig, sounds like you guys had an awesome time! I love hearing about these things. So cool to think about how Ants can bring people together like that. I have also met a few fellow ants at shows and sporting event, but never overseas like that!

Glad it was awesome (especially for Craig because Chelsea lost haha).

One quick story from our time at Britannia was that before the game we went to their club store and I was thinking of getting a small souvenir for our American at Stoke City, Geoff Cameron. Unfortunately the line to purchase was too long so we agreed to come back after the game.

[fast forward to after Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Stoke]

I believe my words to Craig when he asked if I wanted to go get that souvenir were..."F*** Geoff."

Another crazy day in the EPL... Leicester City is top of the table almost one year to the date when they where bottom of the table, Stoke eek out a win, ManU bring back Fergie Time to beat Watford, 'Pool whip City's arse, Chelsea get back on track and Arsenal pull, well, an Arsenal.

I had forgotten what 3 points feels like! It's nice. I've said this countless times but here's hoping that we can kick on from here. Winnable game in Isreal tomorrow would help bolster our confidence and put us in a position to top our Champions League group. Then we get Tottenham on Sunday. Not looking forward to that. Spurs are hitting on all cylinders at the moment.

Enjoying the attacking setup for United tonight. They just need to find the back of the net a couple of times and we will be though to the knockouts.

Yikes, not the result United needed tonight. Now we have to win on the road to secure the next round. If we tie, CSKA has to pull out the win versus PSV on the road and I just don't see that happening.

Last 15 minutes of the Bournemouth/Everton game was insane. Ready for Leicester and United!
