I take my alpine lawn chair with me to all the other venues I go to. always have a piece of alpine with me for DMB....except the gorge. that shit chair rental cost WAY too much to fly out

Avoid the Chinese restaurant in East Troy at all costs.

Pay for early parking.

Lake Geneva is just a hop skip and a jump away. They have quite a few activities/shopping. It's a cute little tourist town. Really crowded on the 4th weekend, but it's quaint. In '13, we took a guided boat tour of the lake, and a tour of a landmark house there. It was great. But I'm kind of of nerdy museum type girl.

At some point during the shows (after dark), you have to go and sit at the very top of the lawn. No other experience like it. You are so high up, you can see everything. The pulsing crowd, the view of the whole stage, and the sound is still great. The weather up there after dark is beautiful, there are very few people, and the people that are there are soooooo interesting. Do it.

Also, when you walk in the venue, take it all in for a moment. The view of the pavilion with the "mountains" in the background is breathtaking.

Finally, dance like a crazy fool.

I have always stayed in delavan at the dirty super 8. About 15 minutes away. Booked the Hampton in elkhorn this time. Also have comfort inn and suites in delavan as a backup. Ideally going to do alpine resort if I can get in.

I'm there! Wasn't too impressed with 2013, but Alpine deserves another chance from me. Met some really awesome WI people and I'd like to visit them again anyway. Alpine provides the perfect opportunity for that.

I love Country View. Best place I have ever camped. Hot showers, pool, shaded and non shaded areas, electricity and running water at certain sites and friendly owners. They do have county cops walking around and what not so don't act a fool and you will be all good. Been staying there for every DMB Alpine show since 2003. Been going to Alpine since 2000 overall. Camping over the holiday weekend is a bit more expensive and they have rates on their website. My guess is it's around $20-25 a night per person.

Awesome venue, awesome tailgating. I would say the tailgating is best of any venue hands down and the band loves playing there and has been stated by Dave many times. I am from Chicago, but Wisconsin knows how to party and tailgate. Very steep lawn, your leg muscles will get a work out and if you end up in the pavilion, be prepared to wait a long time to exit as you have to walk up the pavilion and then the lawn. Also if you arrive early for tailgating, you won't be leaving the lot for about 2 hours as cars in the front(closest to the venue) just can't move. I am older now(mid 30's) so my getting there at 1pm tailgating days are over. I am happy getting to the venue around 5-6pm, parking in the back of the lot(gets you out of the lots in 20 minutes or less), get in a quick tailgate and head on in. I can get my drinking in at the campground and we always have someone in my group who DD's and if you don't have that, Country View in the has always ran a bus shuttle to and from for around $20 a head.

I camped at Country View a few times. Good place if you want something a bit more low key. There are some really great wooded camp sites and a group camp site if I remember correctly. The facilities are nice and the staff was helpful. You won't be able to crank it up after the show, but the day is fair game as long as you don't get silly and start climbing trees or something. Book early. Sorry...no idea on price but I am sure it's par for the course.

Really hoping this is true! If so I'll be making the drive up from FL to see my 34th show on my 41st bday. Hoping for one of those two songs, but fully aware I'll probably get Thank You....and I'll enjoy it.
