Watching the camera on him rounding the bases on that double by Rosario, he made quick work of that 270 feet.

How fitting that Buxton's first hit in the show is a stand up triple that was simply hit to the gap in LCF. He fast. He real fast.

    Very fitting.

If he and Rosario keep playing well, assuming Hunter is not going anywhere, is this the death of Arcia? I mean, where would we put him???

    Here's an idea:

    Trade Mike Pelfrey.

Think about it....last year of his contract, value has never been higher, we need a spot for Ervin.

Little risky for a team in contention to trade their best pitcher but I think this move makes complete sense for us.

I dont know.....I just feel like we can sell very high on him. I dont think anyone has delusions that Pelf IS the answer for the next 4-6 years....Just dont want to miss our chance.

Also, we should seriously give consideration to letting Mauer move back to catcher for even half of the games of the season. Hes choking us and creating a logjam in our farm system at first base.

    Re: Minnesota Twins

Buxton has been Pedro Cerrano when it comes to putting good swings on breaking balls. That's quite a learning curve when you skip a level of the minors, but after this many games of seeing show-quality hurlers, he still looks a bit lost when the catcher puts down more than one finger. He'll definitely figure it out, but until he does, that's a pretty easy scouting report.

Edit: Long road trip starting tomorrow. This should reveal if they are contenders or pretenders. Teams of the last four years would come back from this kind of trip 3-7 or 2-8. If they can do .500, I think that would be acceptable. I just hope they can steal at least one while in KC.

definitely feel like these next few series up to the all star break will be the deciding factor on whether they can be contenders or pretenders the remainder of the season. obviously things can change quickly, but these series have been looming as the proving ground for 2015. i would take .500 as a moderate success, but am hoping for more.

Buxton goes on the 15-day DL with a thumb issue? All that flailing at Sale's pitches on Wednesday must have taken a toll.

Starting pitching lately: yikes. Getting Santana back this week couldn't have come at a better time. Who loses their spot in the rotation, Pelfrey after his past couple of outings? He looked awful last night.

Its going to be May or Milone. Count on it.

Sano's first hit wasn't glamorous by any means, but the fact it translated in to an insurance run helps a little bit. I can't wait until he crushes his first home run.

It's good to see Santana settle in like he did. He's going to help a lot in the second half of the season. I don't know that I like the May move to the bullpen, he should still be in the rotation. Pelfrey is just falling apart and has all but taken his trade value down to zero.

Edit: It's good to see Sano hitting the ball hard, even on outs. He's not getting fooled like Buxton was in his first week. That's a good sign as he continues to figure out pitching at the show level. Think Sano stays put going forward or will they find a reason to send him back down and give DH back to Vargas?

Should have been milone to the pen. May has shown exrended flashes of brilliance and needs to get starts.

Hate to say i told everyone so but Pelf shoulda been delt, now hes got little value. Missed the window there. Typical....

Sano better stay put. Hes shown not one shred of reasoning to suggest he doesnt belong with the big boys.

It's stupid he's not a reserve selection and has to go through this sillly vote. I'd hope he could win, but with a Yankee on the ballot, they'll pull him through.
