I'm just glad we're playing against a team with a worse offense right now. I'll take the win. This is the time for the Cubs to start piling up wins. Outside of the 4 game series with the Cardinals next week, the Cubs don't play a team with a winning record for the next month. I believe they will be at home for a majority of the games as well.

I think something like 45% of our second half games are against Milwaukee, Colorado, Philly, and one other shit team I think Cincinnati. Easy.

Sucks Montero knocked Arrieta out. Would have loved another complete game from him.

    Random thoughts:

-- Post Simon's magic show the Cubs are 3-0. Obviously this team needs a professional magician.

-- You'd think a 2.80 ERA would get Arrieta a better record than 8-5 so far, but he should at least get 15 wins this year.

-- Who else is sad that Cards scouting director got fired? http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/20...cking-scandal/

Worth nothing that as of right now the Cubs have played the toughest schedule in the MLB: http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/rpi/_/sort/sos

Some bums coming up so they won't maintain that for long, but despite the tough schedule, injuries, and slumping hitters they're a wild card team right now.

You pitch well you win baseball games even with slumping hitters. Can never have enough pitching.

Do you even Chicago bro? It was a hot dog/sausage restaurant that routinely had waits exceeding a couple hours. The restaurant shut down about a year ago and now Wrigley is the only place to get them.

I suppose there is so much more to Chicago than what I see when I visit once a year for Cardinals games. Been going there since the mid 90's but I guess I never followed the hot dog scene lol

That stupid Marlins guy is behind home plate today (the guy that was behind the plate for every World Series game last October). He looks even dumber with that visor sideways on his head......wish I had his money and resources, though.

Also...what's the deal with the magic show? I was more worried about the show in Des Moines than what the Cubs were doing in New York on Tuesday night and must have missed that little tidbit. I did see some people talking about Maddon and magic in articles, but didn't see anything about a magic show.

I was a few rows behind him last week in St. Louis when the Cubs were in town. He is an idiot. The Cubs just aren't scoring runs but the pitching has been lights out.

Didn't see most of the game, but he probably will be. Even if he had an off day he'll be elite defensively at SS or 2B.

You concerned about Russell making one error? His bat is a bit concerning but even that I'm not overly worried about it. Still an elite defender no doubt.

I saw a couple different plays but I guess only one was determined to be an error. Yes his bat is awful at the moment. You would think he could restrain himself from the low and outside pitches but nope.
