This guy is a coach. His job is to tell kids how to defend a run. Not go seeking out a reason to hand a fan's ass to him. And NOT bring lawsuits to the school. Now if you even think for a second that you have the right or even *gasp* the duty to stop that crime being committed, then your OMG COACH argument fails.

Now you can argue that he had all the right but the physical act of apprehension was so violent that it constitutes assault. Wouldn't have any success though.

if someone from the stands goes onto the field, anybody who actually belongs on the field (players, coaches, security, etc) should have free reign to stop the idiot if they choose to.

i saw the video. he grabs the dumbass, quarter turns to the left, and throws the guy to the ground. the guy had to be stopped some how. there were no punches thrown or anything like that. the coach just put the guy on the ground with enough force to make sure he stayed there. if you're that stupid to run onto the field, you deserve to get thrown to the ground like that.
