Re: College Football Season

A&M and Arkansas will be the toughest of that slate but it definitely possible. That would be wild if that happened

Would not be surprised if UGA lost two out of three of those games.

Yep. Mizzou only has 1 SEC loss to Georgia, so Georgia owns the tiebreaker now, but a 2nd SEC loss for Georgia would put Mizzou in the driver's seat. And it would be hilarious, and it would be the lowest rated SECCG in YEARS because it would be over in the 1st quarter.

Now, I don't put it past Mizzou to lose some of their remaining games, but they all certainly look winnable now that we have re-established that A&M is no good.

Missouri won't win out. A&M will kill them. Good chance Arkansas beats them. And I'd be willing to bet that Kentucky or Tennessee could give them a run for their money, as well.

I don't put a ton of stock in Mizzou winning out either, but it looks doable. What have you possibly seen from A&M that convinces you they are going to kill Mizzou? Beat them, sure, but kill them?

Missouri is not a good football team. (cue everyone saying "but they just killed Florida)

I agree. They are hovering right around/below mediocre. Their remaining schedule is full of teams that are hovering right in that same space.

It would not surprise me if they won all their remaining games. It would also not surprise me if they lost them all (except Vandy, losing to them would surprise me). I expect a lot of tight games between several not good teams.

I do think Missouri has a pretty good defense, which will keep them in games. And I base that on more than just the Florida game.

Exactly while they'll always be a fad. Would love to see them break through though.

Texas Tech and Graham Harrell was a fad. Oregon is 10-15 years of institutionalized winning and arguably revolutionizing college football.

How can something "always be a fad." A fad, by definition, is something temporary.

    Really showing that SEC education.

Uniforms + speed of offensive play and spread/read option/etc at the expense of defense has maybe not "revolutionized" but I would say Oregon has had the largest influence on the rest of college football in the 2000s.

41 points to Cal? I mean Oregon is incredible offensively, but surely they can't win against a team with an elite defense.

Revolutions usually accomplish something great. Rose Bowls are impressive I'm not denying that but they have no crystal balls at Nike U. Getting out recruited by South Carolina and Ole Miss this past year doesn't help either.

You're all missing my point I hope they win it all one day so we can take them serious for once. They always have tons of talent but not where it counts.

Uniforms are a huge deal. I mean how did Alabama win 3 national championships in 4 years without all that Nike swag they rock every Saturday?

Uniforms do help recruits I will say that but you look really dumb in lime green when you can't beat Stanford consitently.

And honestly, the impact of Oregon's uniforms cannot be understated. It can be argued that the crazy Oregon uniforms are the starting point of where Oregon is today. And before Oregon, you never saw programs do Pro-Combat or the like. The effects that uniforms can have on influential high school recruits and overall program image is not insignificant. Sure, there's diminishing returns, but Oregon, with Nike help, changed the approach to apparel and essentially invented uniform swag.
