some early notes for Thurs-Sun games


Bowling Green O is up to 57... opened at 55. BGSU is running a high tempo O. That's why it's going up. It will continue to climb

Colorado St is down to +2.5 (v Colorado). CSU has new weapons (Dee Hart at RB). I think this line could hit pickem by gametime.

Ohio St dipped to -12.5 (v Navy) on the news Braxton is out for the year, but then climbed back to -14 when people realized the backup is a better passer.

Ga Southern is no longer I-AA, they open +22 vs NCST.

App St is no longer 1-AA, they open +34.5 vs Michigan. App st is 1-0 all time at Michigan

money is flying in on Arkansas; line opened at +24 (v Auburn) and is down to 20. (I actually loved Arkansas at 24... not as much at 20, but still think it's WAY TOO HIGH)

Marshall will likely go undefeated. The question is will they cover every game? Probably not, but they open +24 vs Miami (Oh), a team that was horrible last year but played very hard. Marshall's D is actually pretty good, number is probably spot on or a bit low.

Chuckie Keaton returns to action for Utah St (+6.5) v Tennessee. Utah St almost beat Auburn with Chuckie 2 years ago opening week. Tennessee is much improved and Utah St gets respect (as the line indicates).

I'm not sure Ohio State covers with the new QB; I am definitely sure that JT Barrett is not as good of a passer as Braxton Miller though - where'd you hear that?

I always like Utah St, but the game feels like a pass. Line is well set. Tennessee is better this year, and you have to worry about Chuckie in his first game action back. Utah St has trouble against bigs, & Tennessee is big.

Monroe -2. This line swung from Wake -2 to ULM -2... there's a reason. it's basically picking Monroe to win, and with Wake having new receivers I'm not thrilled with them going on the road in Louisiana.


Cal Poly -7. A D-II laying points on the road vs a D-1 team? Yes please. Cal Poly was #1 in D-II in rushing last year, NMST was 118 in D-1. That's why they're 7 pt road favorites. Love the Mustangs

on the bright side, it was Scar over Boise... so it was a lose-lose.



Cal Poly turned the ball over 3 times, including a terrible int when they were driving early to take the lead.. never recovered from that. Didn't count on them putting the ball down.
