    Thanks man.

Yeah 11 people were killed this morning. NWS is saying this is supposed to be the worst tornado outbreak since 1993.

Any decent human can show compassion for house damage and what not, but my neighborhood was hit 3 weeks ago by this same shit and I look at these storms totally different now. It takes a toll on you. Listen to the news. If they say seek shelter you do it. These storms aren't a joke. They are completely unpredictable and will produce widespread damage.

Yes, that was us. It's been hell the past 3 weeks weather wise. It's sad that it's taken 15 lives to get the national media attention but we finally have everyone's attention. These tornadoes were deadly and could've been much, much worse. A trailer park was leveled not too far from my grandmother's house and killed 4 people and a small child is still missing.

All of my family is safe thankfully, but my grandmother was put in the hospital on Friday and it probably saved her life not being home. Her neighbor told us that they could feel the air being sucked out of their lungs as the tornado passed by a half a mile away. I couldn't believe it. I didn't know that was possible. She would've died if she was at home because she's super old and has weak lungs. This was an F3 or weak F4 they're saying.

3 weeks ago tonight my neighborhood was hit and our house had minimal damage (back porch roof was blown off) but our neighborhood doesn't look the same. So many less trees now. Cars were destroyed and there's some houses that had a lot of damage. It literally looked like a war zone. It was the most surreal thing I've ever experienced.

I would never ask for a handout and I'm perfectly fine, but there's a lot of people who have don't have anything. If you'd like to donate PM me and I'll send you a link. There's been tons of Red Cross, Samaratan's Purse, etc. settiing up relief stations around town as well.

This shit takes a toll on you and really puts things into perspective.

how are things shaping up for early february in the new england region? mostly wondering about northern NH at this point.

i've heard that normal winter temps will come back, but will it be dry?

also, RecentlyJTR41, best of luck to you. tornadoes are no laughing matter.

Yup, looks like more normal temps for the first 10 days of February, with some below normal, but nothing too crazy. I focus more so on coastal Southern NE, though.

The GFS has been hinting at a storm around the 6th. As expected, its output varies a bunch, but here's what this morning's 6z run looked like.

There are some other positive storm signals that are projected to be in place as well. All in all, probably one of our best windows of the winter for producing a storm. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this, but for now, it's just way too far out to take anything a model spits out as fact. At this point, the threat could disappear by the time the 6th rolls around.

Woke up this morning to the sound of multiple helicopters over my neighborhood. This was 2 blocks away:

    interesting insight, thanks!

Boston has gotten just over 14" of snow so far this season. Average amount to date is 20". Temps have obviously been a factor in that. had it been cold enough earlier this week, we'd have a lot of snow on the ground right now

Checked the 10-day +5 and it's nice to see some lower temps and snow potential next week! I was shocked to see this far out 2/5 into 2/6 potential of 3-5" here in Providence. Guess we'll see how that shapes up.

With how this winter has gone, I'm not going to gt very excited or put much weight into anything until like a day before haha.

Hopefully we can get a few moderate snowfalls before winter ends.

The 2/5-2/7 timeframe is looking a little juicy, at the moment. I try not to get excited over 10-day storms, but this winter has been pretty uneventful.

18z gfs crush job. Massive storm for the east coast, verbatim. Too bad that's not going to be the exact solution. Glad to see this storm remain run from run. Will be fun to track.

Yup, typical Lake Effect scenario. 12-24 being forecasted for the eastern edges of both Erie and Ontario.

Supposed to get a few inches today in RI. It'll be nice to see some of the white stuff again, but it's nothing too exciting. Forecasts aren't showing much promise either for the next week or so. Supposed to hit mid 50s again next week.

Expecting 1" maybe 2" here throughout the day today here in SW CT. Snow should be tapering off early evening or so... so 6 hours of light showers. Glad to see it.

Boston could get a nice surprise if this thing can fill in later on today and catch a band or two. 4-6" for that area is not out of the question.

How about Providence? any chance we get a little more?

Not sure what your stations are calling for, but looks like a 2-4" event for Providence.

With the Low redeveloping just off the coast after the initial wave, it opens up the opportunity for more snow (compared to coastal CT) for those north of I-84.
