Re: The Head and the Heart
Really enjoyed the show on Monday in Grand Rapids. Beautiful new venue called 20 Monroe Live. It just opened at the start of February. Capacity is about 2,500 I think.
The setlist skewed towards Signs of Light, but there was still a good mix from Let's Be Still and the self-titled debut. I was pumped to hear 10,000 Weight in Gold. Down in the Valley and Lost In My Mind are absolute gems, and Rivers and Roads nearly brings me to tears every single time.
The new songs aren't bad, but obviously much more poppy. It's funny because much like at a DMB show, the audience is super into the classics, but as soon as the band starts playing something more recent, half the audience immediately begins talking or looking at their phone.
I certainly hope Josiah returns to the stage at some point soon and I wish they had played a bit longer, but all in all, it was an awesome time. The Head and the Heart is one of my all-time faves and I'll keep listening and hopefully going to shows as long as they keep making music.
