Re: The Ship
Guys I didn't want to mention this one here buts its too much that I need to vent now.
Last night my roommate parked his car in front of our house when someone knocked on his drivers side window and pulled a gun. They pulled him out, made him lay face down on the sidewalk while they held a gun to his head, frisked him, and went through his car. They stole his backpack with a macbook, ipad, iphone, and school notes. I was at the library studying with him when he left and stayed an extra 10 minutes to finish up a couple last power point slides. I was 10 minutes from being held at gunpoint. Would two people had made the situation worse. If I had pulled up while he was on the ground what would they have done??? Can't even imagine how he is feeling. A girl in my class got held at gun point last semester. Neither of these happened on campus, but me roommate and I live in a relatively nice neighborhood with mostly families and students.
Second semester of junior year I was approached by two people on campus and this guy had his hand in his jacket pocket pretending like he had a weapon/gun and demanded my wallet.
A friend in my fraternity got stabbed one night. We would get countless emails from campus safety about students getting robbed, mugged, etc.
But what is making me post this is that tonight about 35 minutes ago there was a drive by on the street I always park on in front of the building where the library is and where I have some of my classes. The drive by was not school related but it still happened on campus on the street I usually park on and stray bullets hit the building where we are all the time.
For some reason I didn't go home last night the same time my roommate did and for some reason I decided to study at a coffee shop tonight, and not park where the shooting was.
