Let's not forget Brady didnt take NEARLY the damage first round draft pick QB's take usually. He was behind the curve until he wasn't.

How does the round he was drafted have anything to do with how much damage he took?

Not worried about Brady at this point unless he gets hurt of course. I give him 3 or 4 years even if he declines a bit.

If Eli "declines" then yeah he's going to suck. If Brady "declines" he's still going to be better than 95% of the rest of the QBs. I don't think he'll fall off a cliff suddenly. He can decline a bit and still bring the team to another superbowl. #Notworried

Getting hurt doesn't have anything to do with a natural decline due to age. I thought that was the discussion, no? Obviously if he gets hurt he may decline at a quicker rate. I was just discussing if he doesn't get hurt which isn't unrealistic since he's only been out once due to injury if I'm not mistaken (unless you want to count coming out of the Pitt playoff game his first season staring when taking over for Bledsoe).

As long as the Pats have Jimmy G I think they will be fine with Brady sticking around on a year to year basis. The question is how long can they hold Jimmy G before he bolts to be a starter elsewhere?

He's under contract one more year. They can franchise him two more if they want to really keep him. Otherwise his trade value is dropping by the day. It sounds like the Pats are are ok with losing a good chunk of trade value and chalk it up as insurance in case something happens to TB12. He's fighting father time who is undefeated and he's old.
