Maybe it's because the season has just started but umpires' strike zones seem wildly inconsistent so far. More so than I ever remember. I don't mean from umpire to umpire, I mean during the course of a game.

Probably changed now but Cubs bullpen had lowest ERA in the NL. Nothing wrong with the pen. Coke just sucks and Rodon had an off day.

There's never a good time for the pitcher to hit.

How many situations would they walk the 8th hitter to get to the pitcher? Maddon didn't randomly decide to do this. He did after consulting the Cubs number guys. I don't know what the data told him, but I trust that he knows what he's doing.
