Re: Chicago Cubs

Derrek a Triple Crown winner...I think I just got chills. I wish we just didn't have such a powerhouse team at the top of our division, and we could actually compete for a division title instead of a Wild Card.

i would most def sacrifice this postseason for D Lee to win the triple crown.
i however, would only do that once. i am still dissapointed about last season.

C Paterson is letting me down biiiiig time. i love his game, but not now. i played with him in summer ball before college, best damn gusy i ahve played with.

Last season? I'm still disappointed about 2003. Who knows? That could've been their best chance for a while...

3 games back in the wild card!

what is good and bad is that we still have 13 games left with the Cars, including the last homstand of the year. we also have 10 games left with the 'stros.

of course if we loose a few--we are prolly done. we need to put a hurttin on them.
we cannot get shutout by Arizona!

Oh....the life of a Cubbie. How frustrating this is. The NL wildcard is up for grabs...we get Nomar and Kerry Wood back, trade for Matt Lawton and we don't even come close to making a move!

This season feels like someone is beating my balls with a meat cleaver.

Why am I a Cubs fan?

I could simply sell my soul and be an Angels fan. Then, I wouldn't have to put up with this crap. How do you get swept by the Mets?

Hey, everything is under control everybody. The losing streak was actually all my fault- I was at the Sunday Diamondbacks game a while back and bought one of those blue "Believe" bracelets. I realized yesterday that they haven't won a game as long as I've been wearing that damn thing, so I took it off. Needless to say, they're undefeated ever since. Sorry...

BTW- anyone know where I can buy a White Sox Bracelet???

man, you sox fans in here are a disgrace. go back to the sox thread. I am a sox fan but was looking to add conversation about the cubs, not just come in here and say "come join us"
thats one thing i hate about the sox fans, they are so concerned with the cubs it's amazing. they aren't in our division, they aren't even in our league, so stop worrying about them.
at a sox game i saw a sign that said something like. "sucking 9 years less then the cubs" what the hell does that even mean other than the sox suck.

as for the cubs. hopefully wood can continue to pitch well from the bullpen. he needs to close because i don't trust dempster one bit.

yeah, Demps has had moderate success...but he scares me. i agree, i would like Wood to close and have better success then Curt Schilling.

for this year, i do see him staying in the pen. we need a closer. JoeB will never close again in a Cubs uni...Dempster is a makeshift closer....surely in the offseason they will adress this. i also think they need to go a different direction. they have always based this current team around Wood, Prior and Sosa. screw them. they dont pitch consistantly enough and obviosuly Sosa is gone. build this team around a lineup and speed. let the pitching fall as it may. i still think Zambrono is the horse of the staff anyway, albeit a headcase at times. he is still 24 years old
