Disney World

I searched for a thread about Disney already and found nothing, so hopefully I didn't overlook anything.

Anyways,

I am going to Dinsey World for the first time ever this month. I don't really know what to expect or anything at all and it's kind of overwhelming.

I am going for a week with my boyfriend's family. We're staying at one of the resorts (not sure which) and bought a meal plan or something to that effect so we don't have to actually pay for any food unless we want to once we get down there.

So I was just wondering if anyone had any tips/advice/suggestions for me.

Thanks a bunch!

Yes! The last time I was at Epcot, I was 20, so no booze for me.
I think I'm going to have a week-long honeymoon in Orlando.

And when they do die, it's never at the park. It's always on the way to the hospital.....something ain't right there..

Big Thunder Mountain sucks. The train is too long so you don't get any thrill from the hills. By the time the first car is at the bottom of the first big hill, the last car is still climbing it.

Then again, Disney isn't exactly the place to go for thrilling rollercoasters.

    Re: Disney World

Disney World is such a cool plae to visit. There is a whole bunch of new rides and attractions down there that have been added in the last few years. So here is my list of must-see rides:

-Pirates of the Caribbean (Magic Kingdom) -Everest (Animal Kingdom)
-Haunted Mansion (Magic Kingdom) -Dinosaur (Amimal Kingdom)
-Jungle Cruise (Magic Kingdom) -Kilamanjaro Safari (Animal Kingdom)
-Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom) -Tower of Terror (MGM-Studios)
-Mickey's Philharmagic (Magic Kingdom) -Rock n' Roller Coaster (MGM)
-Buzz Lightyear (Magic Kingdom) -Star Tours (MGM-Studios)
-Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom) -Great Movie Ride (MGM-Studios)
    -Soarin' (Epcot) -Mission: Space (Epcot)
-Test Track (Epcot) -Spaceship Earth (Epcot)

Plus, don't miss any of the nighttime shows (Wishes, Illuminations, and Fantasmic!). Most of all, have fun and act like a kid again. See everything you possibly can but relax. Don't push your self too hard and try to see everything in a day. Disney World is unlike any place on earth and is truely a great vacation destination. Again, have fun on your trip and tell us all about it when you get back!

Thanks for all the help. And I will have a whole week... That is enough time right?

My boyfriend's mother has this whole itenerary, but the only thing we really have to stick to is the time and place we eat. The only two places I can remember are Chef Mickey's and Ohana... We have reservations for a few other places, too... Um, I think one's a steakhouse... I can't remember any of the other places.

Hit the Parade of Tapestry at Epcot. That was my favorite thing. It's GORGEOUS. The costumes are like 25 feet tall, with beautiful lights and fabric. I really liked Epcot and Universal the best. I went when I was 20 with a group of friends.

Back to the Future ride was pretty awesome.

#1 reccomendation: Bring lots of $$$.

$65 to get into the parks.

We ate at Emeril's restaurant-good eats.

It's been like 7 years since I've been there but I had a blast. Got completely blotto'd at the themed clubs in the adult area.

A week is not enough to see it all in my opinion. The place is just too friggin big. Don't worry about seeing it all though, just take some of the suggestions you've seen here and those that your BFs' family will have recevied as well and wander about.

I will second the greek place though, that was dynamite food which I did not expect at all at an amusement park. Fasting for about a week before going might not be a bad idea too because there really is a ton of great food and booze to partake in. Epcot is just sheer coolness imo too but it'll be up to you and those you are traveling with as to what will please the majority of you the most.

Enjoy it! I'd go back for a week for the next couple years if I could afford it. It's a blast.

disney world is the happiest place ever. im going there for new yrs.

yes the deaths are very tragic. they are so sad. undiagnosed heart diseases that no one knew about.

but it really is a great place, and altho these are so tragic, dont let it ruin your experience.

go on rockin rollin coaster, tower of terror, space mountain, everything

be a kid and go on the peter pan and pirates of the carribean ride, haunted mansion.

eat at cinderellas castle just once.

enjoy every minute. ive been 12 times and theres no way i can tell you everything, but just soak it in. its so much fun. do everything. everything you see. get up early and go. then take a break at lunch, swim in the pool, and go back to the park. its so great!

    have fun.

All of my meals and passes for the parks has already been paid for. I think it was something like $800. Luckily my boyfriend helped me with that.

So I guess I only need money for souveniers, right?
