It was just general ball busting from my friends. Nice shirt, Tiger. Nice hat, Tiger. The typical 40 to 60 year old white guy comments ran from normal ball busting to more than 1 guy asking me why I would dress like that no good N-word.

That's wierd to me. Everyone I know that's around my age who plays golf loved Tiger and would have most definitely used his golf equiptment, wore his TW clothes/hats/gloves. Most still would.

    Ahh, ok.

Sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me though. Not only is his gear comfortable as hell when golfing, but it looks cool.

This looked ridiculous. I'm part Italian, so I get pretty dark in the summer time. I looked like some jackass going as Tiger for Halloween.

I think the Nike golf stuff is just stupidly expensive at this point. When you had to pay 40+ dollars for a moisture wicking polo I bought a couple. You can get the same dri-fit type material at Penny's for $10 now. It's got a PGA logo on it rather than the Swoosh or TW, but it's the same shirt.

Also Italian, I get dark as shit...aka Tiger style.

It is stupidly expensive. But I love it. I bought a $13 dry fit at Kohl's last year, don't even know the brand. But it sticks to me, shrunk, and it doesn't feel as good. I gotta hand it to TW, shit is comfortable as hell. Plus the logo knocks 5 strokes off my game

she's only famous because she's tiger's wife. tiger has way more power than she does. if he wanted her to go to jail and face charges for assault, he would. assault is assault, regardless of why you did it.

IMO it would be even more of a dick move to charge her with assault because she flipped out on you for finding out about the affairs.

I highly suggest the PGA brand at JC Penny's as long as you get the ones with the open sleeve. They have some with elasitc sleeves and they just don't work.

Truth. And for the record, I think you took so much shit because it was the red Tiger shirt. If it was just a regular Nike golf shirt, I don't think you get any shit at all.

I think Under Armour, Dri-Fit, etc was the greatest invention of the last decade. I cannot imagine how miserable 17 year old me must have been playing 27 holes on a 90 degree summer day in a bunch of sweat soaked cotton clothing.

It really is awesome. I got a $700 set of Titleist irons for $300. I really don't think I'd be anywhere near as into golf as I am if I didn't work there and make it relatively inexpensive to play.

    absolutely

my dad's a teacher and my mom is a nurse, so i didn't exactly grow up with the country club lifestyle. i worked bag staff for like 5 or 6 years in high school and college - some of the best time of my life right there. with out all the advantages from working bag staf (free golf, discounts on equipment, discounts at other courses, the connections that i made), there is no way i would be as into golf as i am. or nearly as good as i am.

I might buy some new irons once my tax return comes. I just don't think I play from the fairway enough to make a nice set worth my while.

i notice more of a difference in the fall/winter. i used to hate golfing with a sweatshirt over a polo - sometimes i had to wear more. that really restricts your swing. now i just wear a long sleeve UA and a sweater vest - maybe a light wind breaker if it's chilly. i lose almost no mobility in my swing and i stay just as warm.

taking out my 3 iron and adding a hybrid was one of the best moves i ever made. i might even do that to the 4 iron.

I take the Phil approach to Golf, but I try to make pars and bogies rather than pars, birdies, and eagles. I just bomb it out there off the tee with no accuracy try to hit a iron close, and use my short game to get it in the hole.

I'm thinking about taking a lesson or 2 to try and get my drives under control. If I could just hit maybe 40% of the fairways I think I could get under 80.

I've got a Adams "Tight Lies" (It's the more modern version with a graphite shaft and titanium head) that I hit really well, but it only comes out of my bag for second shots on Par 5s.

easiest way to break 80, especially if you can get it airborne off the tee, is to practice 100 yards and in.

That's what I do. I bought two nice wedges and an Odyessy putter, and I went from rounds of 90 to 95 to rounds of 88 to 82. I rarely 3 putt, so if I could just start hitting GIR more I'd be money.

I did fire off a 66 on the front 9 once 2 summers ago, but I just pretend that did not count.

nice i went with the scotty newport 2 about 7 years ago and i haven't switched. that thing feels like butter. and there's nothing like quality wedges - they can make a huge difference.

an easy short game tip: have a 56 degree and 60 degree wedge. have one with a lot of bounce and one with less bounce. using the one with a lot of bounce in fluffy bunkers and the one with less bounce from bunkers with tight, compact sand. you're welcome in advance

The only thing I have trouble with is hitting a chip shot where I need to fly it over something and get it to stop quickly. I know very few people who don't have trouble with that one.
