I've got it set to record. I grew up across the river from Newburgh.

Just finished Silicon Valley this weekend. I had never watched it til a friend showed me the Mean Jerk Time clip on YouTube. I was in tears, and I started the season that day. Finished it within a week. Funny stuff. The montage of startup presentations in the finale was so spot on. I used to watch videos of those exact kinds of things and edit transcripts of them for a part-time job I still have on the side, and it was not even an exaggeration how cliche they all are. "Changing the world through..." "Making the world a better place." I also like Kumail Nanjiani. Don't care what anyone says, have been a fan of Franklin and Bash from the beginning and he's hilarious on that too.

Speaking of which, looking forward to the that returning in August. Trying to find all the earlier seasons to show my gf and see if she'll get into it.

All my shows seem to be off at the moment, or I've finished them. VICE, OitNB, 24, Silicon Valley.

I've gone back to trying to finish The Shield. I definitely enjoy it, but for some reason I'll take week-or-more-long breaks between episodes which makes it hard to remember what I've seen. Don't want anything spoiled for me so I haven't been in its thread. I have to admit I see Julian in a different light after knowing what Michael Jace did to his wife

I've also got Homeland which I'm early on in S2. Another show I really like but haven't actually gotten really addicted to.

    Why?

Mrs. Beefy watches it. I can't stand it.

I know, I was just picturing a completely different show

I flipped over for a bit cause I just got showtime and have heard good things, but I've been burned by showtime multiple times before (dexter, homeland, californication, weeds)

Californication is the only Showtime show I've ever watched. I watched the first five seasons which I really enjoyed but then kinda stopped watching a few episodes into the sixth season

I was genuinely shocked when I saw that Masters Of Sex did not get a Best Drama Emmy nod, although I guess maybe it just speaks to how crazy hard the competition was this year. Nice to see Lizzy Kaplan got a nod, but honestly I thought Michael Sheen was just as much of a lock for lead actor as I thought the show was.

It also feels like their 2nd season came back unusually fast, given how long ago season 1 finished, as far as the time tables usually seem to go for cable dramas. though not that I'm complaining.

I must say, after a very rocky start, I feel like Halt and Catch Fire has become a pretty enjoyable show. Glad I stuck with it, even though it's almost certainly going to be cancelled after just one season.

yea, I missed about two weeks now because of a move, and I don't really have the motivation to catch up. didn't think it was bad by any means, just not really gripping

Oh, and shows I will be watching this coming year:

    Scheduled

    Sons of Anarchy (final season)
    Gotham
    Parenthood (final season)
    Good Wife
    Justified (final season)
    Mad Men (final season)
    The Americans
    Walking Dead
    Better Call Saul

And shows I will be binge-watching to have something to fill the void of the above final seasons:

The Leftovers (just got HBO for the first time)
    Game of Thrones (ditto)

I'm watching all of FX's summer shows now (The Bridge, The Strain, and Tyrant) but am behind by a couple episodes on all of them. None of them jumping out at me as being overly fantastic.

Watched pretty much all of season 1 when my brother had HBO - then he unsubscribed and I lost access. I don't really pirate anymore, but we just moved a month ago and I ended up getting HBO as a pretty sweet introductory deal, so gonna jump back into it.
