According to the show's history, Ian is bi-polar, but in last night's episode, his symptoms are those of a schizophrenic. Get your shit together. Also, can't wait for the TRIP-WEED episode next week. Jimmy's return was handled awfully this year; he deserved a better sendoff than that diner shit. If they didn't plan to give him a decent farewell storyline they should have just left him dead. This season has had some good moments but it still feels like it lacks focus and is just a bunch of random shit thrown together without much thought (outside of the Ian storyline.) The main thing I'm looking forward to moving forward is Chucky getting his ass kicked in juve

I feel like I'm watching the same show, but it's way better than it used to be. Anyone else notice the quality going through the roof in the past few episodes? (Besides a few dud-storylines. And even those are starting to get cleared up.)

Fiona needs to ditch Gus and go to Shawn. Gus is a nice guy, but Fiona isn't into nice guys.

Lip storyline is pretty good, I like where that's going

Mickey and Ian - that was sad. I'm hoping that doesn't stick. They've been the best part of this show, especially Mickey's character development

Debbie, just blah.

Could use more attention to the Carl in jail storyline

Somehow got through this season. Fiona is just a whore. Zero interest in her story. Same thing over and over again. Season was pretty bad. They had nothing for frank to do so they write in this girl with cancer just to have something for the finale. Just like they did last year with jimmy/Steve.

How epic was his return btw?

Sammi is an awful shot.

The Frank storyline and the Debbie story lines felt like "well, we have these characters, what are we gonna do with them?"

i definitely didn't mind the Frank storyline whatsoever. that was all about character development. that was the first person he ever truly cared about in the entire duration of the show. it showed a totally different side to him we haven't seen before. the scene where he found out she went into the ocean was almost a parallel shot to when he was on the beach in Chicago at the end of the last season.

Debbie's storyline is p brutal. it's quite obvious that she is preggo after the finale. and it really does nothing to add to the show overall. just like with Fiona constantly being a whore, which is definitely extremely annoying. Lip, Ian, Mickey, Carl, and Frank are definitely keeping this show afloat.

oh and that Jimmy/Steve return was just a waste.

Lip and Mickey still great. Liked what they're doing with Frank.
Kev kind of sucks now. Veronica is just terrible.
The rest are awful. Definitely wasted Steve's return to save the show.

I'm hoping that the full impact Bianca had on Frank's life won't be fully felt until later, as the show explores his own self-reflection and reassessment of his lifestyle in the wake of her death. She humanized him, and he displayed restraint and true empathy to the viewers for the first time.

My money is on frank not changing at all. I actually think the opinion that this girl changed him is hilarious. He just found a girl with money that he could do whatever he wanted with and not deal with any consequences.

show is nowhere near as good as it used to be. i'll still watch because I'm invested at this point. frank's storyline was awful and he's only upset because the hot cancer chick he was using died. not because of any emotional attachment. he'll no longer get free trips to exotic beaches and $10,000 bourbon.

I had really fallen off the Shameless bandwagon this year, but been binging it the last couple days. Think I'm on about episode 9. I see we've learned nothing from the trainwreck that was season 4. Fiona getting married on a whim? Debbie being so desperate to lose her virginity, she thinks it's perfectly fine to do a guy who's literally unconscious? *sigh*...

It's like the writers are thinking, "okay the show's called Shameless, we're in 5 friggin years now, so we gotta make em do the CRAZIEST shit possible!!"

Well granted I do still have a couple of episodes to go, but no it's not like I had anything particular in mind I was wanting or expecting to see. It just feels like things have gotten even more whacked out for a number of characters and sort of in a convoluted way. And I do feel like there were at least a number of people in here who agreed with me that season 4 had more than its share of missteps. It's a shame, because there was a point somewhere in there around season 2-3 where I thought this was arguably the best drama on TV.

My dream storyline for next season are

1. Fiona fucking some guy 1.5 episodes in and screwing him over.

2. Frank trying to con his way into living with someone in their house.

Hopefully the writers come though.
