Duke hit 15 3's and lost. That's insane to me. I didn't get to see the game, what did mercer do so well that duke couldn't defend?

duke shot too many 3's. sure, they made 15, but that's basically all they did the entire game. during the last 3 minutes, they couldn't hit any. came back to bite them in the ass.

I only listened to it on Sirius, but David Thompson was saying that if Mercer got any defensive rebounds at all, they would have won easily.

They lost because they took 37 3's and played dreadful defense, which was pretty much the recipe for disaster for them all season. I don't think Mercer had a single 2nd chance point in the entire game and only had 3 offensive rebounds. But Duke let them shoot 55.6% from the field.

Wow so I got 27/32 correct and two of those losses were NC State who choked the game away and the crazy ending with the Stephen F Austin/ VCU game.

Me too. I could easily see all four teams in that part of the bracket advancing to the Elite Eight.

Mercer owned them inside, which is what killed Duke all year.

Duke's 3 point percentage yesterday was higher than their season average. That was far from their worst problem. Mercer got way too many easy buckets inside.

Nice I had a horrible day yesterday, and I'm only at 23/32. It's crazy to think that if NCST had hung on and won, all four 12 seeds would have advanced.

This year had the worst crop of 5 and 6 seeds that I can remember in a very long time, maybe ever. Baylor is the only one of those worth a damn.

I checked Wichita State's schedule and they've literally played noone except Tennessee who is a lot better now than they were in November. Not saying UK is going to win but I feel like WSU is primed for a loss.
