I'll be damned this team is trending upwards if you ask me. They don't look that bad out there.

I think it's about that time to show Correia the door. Trevor May has been pitching lights out in Rochester (finally gave up an earned run after 31 innings without one). Bring him up and let him face some big league pitching and get tuned in for next season's run at the playoffs.

I went yesterday. Gallo absolutely crushed his home run. I wish I was there for the BP show he put on where he cracked the windshild of the truck that will go the MVP of Tuesday's game. Meyer didn't throw a fastball slower than 97. He needs to get called up soon. The American batters weren't close to making solid contact on Berrios. If an ace is going to come out of the farm over the next few years, he's the most likely. Vargas got fooled a few times at the plate, but it was nice to see him rip that double to right.

The Celebrity Softball game was tons of fun. I could watch Fat Joe run all day.

Me and a few co-workers wandered down to the parking lot where they have the merchandise tent and the Budweiser horses. Peeking around the merch tent, saw this little All-Star teddy bear (palm sized) that would be perfect for my desk. Pricetag: $25.00. I put it back on the shelf and slowly backed away.

Only in Minnesota do you get a rain delay and sub 60 degree temperatures on July freaking 14th.

Not a great home run derby but had some good HR's. Stanton's home run 3/4 up the 3rd deck was stupid. His centerfield shot was pretty damn impressive too.

For a team that's 6 games below .500 hosting an all star game, I don't think you could have asked for a better All Star game.

Jeter's final game plus he gets 2 hits.
Trout playing out of his mind.
    Perkins/Suzuki closing out the game.

The Twins battery closing out the game for the save couldn't have been a better finish/story. Awesome it worked out that way.

I'm a big fan of keeping Suzuki around for two or three more years. With Meyer, May, Berrios and possibly Stewart hitting the rotation within the next three years, it's crucial that the Twins have someone like Suzuki behind the plate to help them get adjusted to the big leagues.

A little saddened they weren't more active in being sellers yesterday, but signing Hawaiian Punch to an extension at least partially makes up for it. Friendly deal, too, which is the best part. Really no downside, even if he regresses more towards his career mean when it comes to productivity at the plate. He needs to keep the pitching staff from imploding more than they need his bat to be at Mauer levels.

KC & Hammer gone. I like that TR is shedding aging veterans that are not part of the future. IMO this should have been happening a year or two ago, but...glad its happening now!

Side note- Im not worried at all about Trevor May. Kid will be alright. We need to get Meyer up here now though to get his feet wet. Im growing tired of watching Pino get blown up every five games.

Gardy returning next year according to Terry Ryan (assuming Ryan himself doesn't get canned). That would make him only the 3rd manager in baseball history to be kept on after 4 consecutive 90-loss seasons.

Only in a series where they score 40+ runs would they earn a split. The decisions on pitching the past few seasons should cost someone their head.

Is Kennys Vargas going to be a long term producer or is he pulling a Colabello and making a splash and then will regress back to obscurity after pitchers figure out how to deal with him at the plate? The dude is a beast.
