I usually don't care about ratings in baseball because it's stupid, but Fox Sports South tweeted that Saturday's game was the highest rated game of the year with a 4.4 share. Which is what like 8-9 million viewers? That's pretty good for playing against a team that's in last place.

Last night was awesome! first game I've been to in a few years and just so happens to be one to not only end a huge losing streak, but involved 4 home runs off Strasburg (including 2 by the Upton brothers and LaStella's first major league homer of his career), a crappy night for Harper (loved the entire stadium just booing the shit out of him ), a crazy looking looming storm approaching (yeah the delay sucked a bit, but it was still fun at the same time), and of course getting to see Kimbrel come out for the save in dominating fashion! all in all, a lot of fun.

also, Simba cam is freaking awesome. best between-inning segment ever.

Although last night a bunch of bad plays I felt were very obviously because Simmons was out and then LaStella left in the 2nd. I was at the game and aside from the bobbled double play, there were just a few hits up the middle and throws/turns to first that it seemed like our starters could've made. But of course, the offense...

While I hate this team, I haven't given up because of how streaky we are. Would not surprise me at all to roll off 10 straight and take bak the lead at some point. I've said all year if we get hot in October it's over, but the problem is getting hot and getting there. Next year will be different. Methinks we make some moves. A home run hitting lineup doesn't work in a pitchers ball park.

braves hit more homers at home than on the road, both as a raw count and as a percentage of their fly balls

turner field being a pitchers park has nothing to do with home runs

Forgive me if I'm delirious it pretty late, but doesn't the term "pitchers park" mean it's hard to hit home runs out of/score? Turner Field is not the "launching pad" Fulton Co Stadium used to be.

Regardless, this lineup can't win a WS. It's too dependent on the HR in an era where those aren't as common as they used to be. We need more contact hitters it's as simple as that.
