Hahahahaha. Great backread. I came on to find out what an 'Instant Will Call' was, but instead found out over about 30 posts that the WH doesn't have any staff.

You have typical WH request period for a short time after tour announcement. Then about a month or so before each series of shows WH releases "instant tickets" for select shows. It's like public on sale. First come, first serve. You have to be quick and right place right time when they send the email that a particular series has dropped. You purchase tickets by price level and confirmed on the spot.

Will call is something WH can technically do for any purchase. Mostly when they suspect of somebody reselling tickets or someone who buys tickets to a high number of shows. Or if you're unlucky, randomly. You have to physically pick up your tickets, at the venue, at the box office window day of show rather than tickets being mailed to you.

Got screwed is a bit of a stretch. Crappy situation but having tickets for an event you can't attend isn't " getting screwed"

Fair enough, but buying them on the premise that you can just re-sell then finding out you CAN'T re-sell must be pretty lame. And then not being able to get through to the WH who apparently have the summer off...
