And the sarcasm (what jake does well in politic discussions) about gas prices....thats all obamas fault, right? Gas prices have never been higher under obama, right?
There is an energy revolution going on in American and the anti industrialists on the left are doing their best to undermine and stifle it. So while many things go into the price of gas, Obama hasn't exactly been a friend to energy production in America on private lands.

Each party does the blame game on gas prices. When Bush was in office and gas prices started to take off the Dems started blaming Bush, and this was when gas was around $2 a gallon in the mid 2000's. So it works both ways....

If you are asking me if the economy would be better if McCain were president, I would say yes. Slightly, but yes.

McCain would toe the democrat line & we would have a 3- man race now

Yeah, I posted about that when he said it during the debates. That's a huge number.

Obama has his hands full with the first round of false promises he's made. I think the "we have a lot more work to do" slogan is what he should stick with.

You are completely correct about this. So let's all agree those on the left who blamed Bush for high gas prices were rightly criticized for blaming him when gas prices rise and fall almost exclusively on factors outside a president's control. Now do the same if you're on the right currently blaming Obama.

I have no source (except of course the biased media), but I remember hearing someone say that those 12 million jobs are expected no matter who wins. How and why, I cannot recall.

Just thought this was relevant, I got an email from Fidelity about what tax code changes will be happening at the end of the year unless Congress changes things:

    https://guidance.fidelity.com/viewpo...-tax-changes-2

I just thought it did a clear job of layout what changes will take place in case anyone was interested.

i think it's a high bar. probably not reachable.

12M jobs in 4 years..is averaging 250K a month. we haven't done it since in mid to late 90's. it's also worth highlighting that the # of jobs added in each cycle (70's 80's and 00's), were each lower than the previous.

Yes. I remember that being used as a rebuttal. It's a great point. It was probably some back and forth shouting match ("debate") between surrogates that I'm thinking about.

Proof they are false promises? Mitt Romney would be the best business man to ever hold office (imo) I have more trust in him to do it than what we have gotten from our current POTUS.

On another note something is definitely fishy about these job numbers. Not calling conspiracy but these numbers simply do not add up.

I'm going to guess if unemployment had risen to say 8.3%-8.4%, the right wouldn't be questioning the validity of the numbers like they are.

Agreed. Everything that setup this situation was specifically to delay it until after the election. Whoever wins the election will address the issue in a more robust way next year.

It's probably a little dangerous to have growth at that rate because it probably signals a bubble is about to burst.

Yeah because they would make more sense. You can't say it's not confusing that the number of jobs created this month (mostly part time and underpaid), weren't enough to maintain the rate of people entering the workforce, then to have the biggest drop in unemployment in four years, conveniently right after the President got his ass handed to him 1 month before the election. Shit doesn't add up.

You really think 12 million jobs being created over a 4 year period due to government policies being enacted is possible when a growth rate like that hasn't occurred since the .com bubble?

I'm not questioning the numbers. They are what they. The economy is what it is. Stuck in neutral, with a pitiful recovery. No use in trying to make a mushy turd into diarrhea when the mushy turd is bad enough.

Just because your guy couldn't do it doesn't mean it's not possible.

This a million times, I don't get the logistics of how this stuff works, I'm sure as shit confused by it though. Shotty's statements are the truth.

Wow where is your HOPE and CHANGE and moving FORWARD mentality? I'm sure you weren't skeptic when Barry said he would cut the deficit in half and create 7million. Amirite?

Shit doesn't add up.
So the possibility of a mild recovery is out of the question? It has to be a farce because the numbers helped the President?

Lolz. The numbers are not going to help Obama. Let's be logical here.

I didn't vote for Obama because he promised to cut the deficit in half and create 7 million jobs. I'm smart enough to know when a candidate is reaching too far. Promises are just that, promises. They aren't commandments. I voted for him because I believe in his policies and his way of governing more than the other option.

My humble apologies, the numbers didn't hurt Obama.

Also, friends don't let friends use the term lolz.
