I'm looking to make some kind of reliable side income. I work a typical 40 hours/week, am salaried at a moderate level in the VFX industry. I've got a steady job and average health benefits, so that's fine.
I get paid once per month, which inevitably leaves me in a tight spot by the last week of the month or so. I'm trying to get on top of my small but persistent credit card debt, and save at least a few hundred bucks a month into a savings account. I'm 32 years old but feel like I'm 17 when it comes to managing my finances
Anyway, I'm not sure if this thread will go anywhere or not, but I've done serious budgeting math, I try to manage my daily expenses with an iPhone app called Pocket Expense (pretty neat, I recommend it). But by the end of the month, I always come up short, and start to dip into what little savings I was trying to set aside for the month.
My only answer is to earn more money. If my career won't give me that, I need to get some side action going. Let's just say for the sake of keeping on topic, that pimping, whoring, and drug dealing are not on the table
Many folks work multiples jobs. I'm not trying to lose all my free time to ringing a cash register at Target or Walmart after work; I'd like to "work smart, not hard" for once in my life.
Anyone have any thoughts about how to earn decent side income while not killing yourself in the process with lack of sleep/social life? (A couple hundred bucks a month would at least keep me in the black, let's say)
