I got the Harvest variety pack. I am also very unimpressed with the Octoberfest this year and I used to love it. I liked the pumpkin ale better to be honest, but I'm not sure if it's a good pumpkin ale or not, I haven't tried many.

Went to Binny's on the way back home looked for some Oktoberfests. Didn't really see anything that was worthwhile so I went with Old Faithful....

Old Rasputin. It's $9.06 for a 4 pack but it's so worth it. You can't get anything this good at a bar for $2.26 a bottle.

Having one right now, mmmmmm so delicious. It shocks me remembering how good it is everytime I have one.

Indeed. If you can get a hold of Southern Tier Pumking (22oz bottles), that tastes like pumpkin pie. You can actually taste the crust, hard to explain unless you try it. It's top notch.

I had more DFH Punkin tonight, plus a Long Trail Double Bag and a Sierra Nevada. Southern Tier Pumking will be my next beer purchase.

Lots of Dogfish Head's Punkin Ale lately, also had Riverhorse's (Delaware) Hipp-O-Latern Imperial Pumpkin Ale tonight for the first time. Delicious and easy drinking for 9%. Definitely would recommend trying it if you can find it

Anyone tried the Dogfish Head, Stone, and Victory collaboration called Saison du Buff? It's made with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. It is very random.........

yeah, i had one about a week ago, wasn't too impressed with it. I figured with 3 great breweries making a beer it would have been better

Yeah, it was alright at first, and after drinking the beer the whole beer I thought it was pretty bleh.

Tried the Sam Adams Octoberfest last night, not as big of a let down as others made it out to be, but it still felt like it was missing something.

I had PumKing, and Stone Levitation last night. PumKing was delicious, but I still give the edge to DFH as far as the pumpkin ales go. I really liked Levitation as well. I also have a bottle of Lagunita's Lil Sumpin Wild in the fridge.

Drinking a Dale's Pale Ale. It's damn strong. This is a wollop of flavor. Bought a 6 pack this time. Oskar Blues makes it FYI. I've still never seen Ten Fidy around here.

Wow, I think I have finally found a pumpkin ale that beats out Southern Tier's Pumking (at least IMO). Clipper City makes one called The Greater Pumpkin which is a pumpkin ale aged in Bourbon barrels!!! A very nice twist on the traditional pumpkin ale and the oaky, vanilla, bourbon blast compliments the pumpkin flavor very nicely!!! I know I am from Maryland and many will think I am being biased because Clipper City is out of Baltimore, but this stuff is really good! Not sure how their distribution is outside of MD, but I encourage all pumpkin ale lovers to try it out and see for yourselves!

Split two liters of Ciney Burne with a friend tonight in Italy (I drank most of it though). A fantastic, cheap beer on tap for a pub in Italy. I didn't spend too much and it was nice and smooth to get drunk off/chug when needed. Had a flavor I couldn't really discern. Almost fruity but still had some weight to it. One of the best/most unique beers I've had in Europe so far.

those of you talking about pumpkin beers, i have to say ive tried about half a dozen and the only two i like are Dogfish Head's and Shipyard's. they both are very good.

also, for those of you keeping score with the whole "west cost is the best coast" san diego took home 17 medals at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver over the weekend. including 7 alone from Pizza Port Carlsbad (i have had 5 of the beers, and before the weekend judging i had previously deemed them all excellent, nice to be reassured by experts.)

if you guys ever get out to San Diego, Pizza Port Carlsbad>>>Port Brewing/Lost Abbey>>>Stone Brewing>>>Ballast Point>>>Alesmith>>>Firehouse is a fine way to spend two days!

This is good to hear. West is best for sure. Also, I have a Lost Abbey Angels Share en route to me as we speak. Excited for that.

I just had a KBS. So damn good! Strong, oaky, tasty!

Lastly, my friend and I hunted down a wild hop vine today. Were gonna harvest a rhizome and plant it in the garden. Then we'll grow our own hops for brewing. Very excited for that. Then we just have to order a few more varieties and we're rolling.
