I was on the fence whether to believe Liz was dead or not. I kind of thought not but part of me wouldn't have been surprised if she was.

well okay but in all fairness, mind you I never watched The Good Wife but am aware of what you're talking about, but that guy wasn't quite the central character of the show, was he? like to the level that Elizabeth is on the Blacklist? I mean I'd argue she is the main character, that she's the lead, even more so than James Spader. He's certainly the famous heavy hitter, but a bit more supporting, like for a movie equivalent I look at it as maybe a bit less than Matt Damon to Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting.
but so on the Good Wife, it's not like they tried to tell you they were killing off Julianna Marguelise.
now granted, the night that episode aired, and while I saw plenty of other people on forums and such that also guessed it exactly, that it was planned with Tom and Kaplan to fake her to escape Red, but I'd had no clue at all about the whole spinoff series thing for Tom's character. Because at first frankly part of my whole thing with credibility was, if they kill Liz NOW, where the hell would the series go from here? like it's one thing to do what they did for a small run of episodes before the finale, but the whole rest of the series? nah.
